“Walk through time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

Althoug I initially didn't like the ideas that Alberta uproots it's historic buildings and plunks them down in one spot, this group of buildings and things like funcitoning bakery and saloon really give you the feeling that you are walking back in time. The trails around the fort are gourgeous and worth the stroll,

“A relaxing way to spend an afternoon!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Very pleasant afternoon wandering about the "Fort", indulging in an ice cream cone and going for a short train ride. It always helps to have a nice, sunny day but not too hot!

“An Excellent Place for the Family to Learn about Alberta History”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

Fort Edmonton attempts to portray the wide range of Alberta history starting from the earliest fur trading post to the 1940s. Original and authentically reproduced buildings staffed by costumed interpreters allow visitors to get a good sense of the provincial story. There are many opportunities for children and some unique experiences like riding on steam locomotives and 100 year old street cars. It is very family friendly but expect to spend several hours there as it is a large site with lots of walking.
