“Awesome convenience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We stayed in an executive polynesian room and it was a great room with lots room. the only downfall was no KING bed where there is plenty of room to have one. It's an experience to stay in WEM and have the great convenience of dropping off shopping bags etc. My 10 year old loved every minute of it including bunk beds for him and his buddy! Very pricey for a night in a room you barely use.

Great great great!! Bunk bed for the kids and me and the wife slept in an igloo! Jacuzzi was huge, fit our whole family. And of course it's directly in the mall, so no shortage of rides, attractions, sites to see! The huge wave pool there was a definite bonus. Stayed for 4 days and it was magnificent.

Room Tip: All the theme rooms looked super fun.

We were there for two nights. We spent he first night in the Victorian Coach room and the second in the Truck room. Beautiful rooms and fantastic in-room hot tubs. I liked being right in the mall too. Buffet breakfast was top notch with great service. The reason why I gave this place 3 stars is because on night two there was loud partying going on until 2 am and we received 3 phone calls/hang ups during the night as well. (I presume miss dialings from the loud partiers.). We woke up and the hallways and elevators were littered with trash and apple cores. When we mentioned all this to the lady at check out. "Oh I am sorry." is all that was said and done.

My wife and I stayed here on my birthday after we decided to do a concept style birthday by spending it in the West Edmonton Mall. The room was nice, though the view is only of the mall itself (the wave pool specifically) but the real benefit is the proximity to the mall and what it has to offer. The hotel is good in this way as it rolls into the mall experience pretty well. We got a discount for the amusement park as part of the package and when we got to the amusement park that carried over into a discount at the glow in the dark mini golf. The room itself was nice, but be forewarned that not every room is for everyone. The Hollywood room has a stripper pole and might not be well suited for everyone. A drawback is lack of free wi-fi.

Really enjoyed my 3 night stay @ this hotel; the rooms were larger than an average hotel; rooms also were very clean. Hotel staff were very helpful if you had any questions about directions to places in the mall, so easy to get lost in that huge mall.
Food was also good at this hotel; good selection and prices are fairly reasonable.
Lots of parking available once you find the hotel; valet will park your vehicle for a small fee.
Liked this hotel.

Room Tip: The upper floors are quietier.

We stayed there with the family over the Christmas holidays. Rooms were large and clean but we had a number of burned out light bulbs. The bathroom had a very low ceiling. The hallways are bizarre, even on the non-theme floors. Ours was a western theme and frankly cheapened the feeling of staying there. Plain, simple and a little bit of elegance would go a long, long way.
As many others have complained, only two or three elevators seem to be working at the same time which led to some very long waits, and taking the stairs was not an option with a stroller.
We got free breakfasts and free tickets to Galaxyland and the Water Park. Food was very good in the restaurant.
It was very cold when we were there, -35C or more so not having to travel to and from the mall was priceless. Two of our girls were old enough to go out into the mall on their own so my wife and I had some down time to relax.
Staff was good and all things considered, it was a very pleasant stay.

We stayed in an Executive Suite on the 4th floor with a 4 person jacuzzi tub and a king sized bed for 2 nights. The bed was good; luxurious and comfortable. We didn't use the jacuzzi, but it looked nice. The room overall, looked a bit tired and dated, but it was clean.

We really liked being right at the mall. Shopping was great. The waterpark was fun and Bourbon street had a few decent places to eat and drink.

However, with that said, I would never stay here again. For the price we paid for the room, the experience was not worth it. The hotel is tired and dated like I mentioned, as well the walls are paper thin, we heard absolutely everything that happened in the hallway outside our room. As well, we listened to the pipes whistle and sigh all night long. It is a very loud hotel. The second night we were there (a Saturday), the hotel seemed to morph into a huge frat party! There were loud parties in the hallways after the bars on bourban street let out.

WiFi is not included in the ridulous room rate, breakfast is also not included. The bathroom is small and oddly designed with a small stand-up shower. Next time we stay in Edmonton we will stay at one of the many hotels in the area for a fraction of the cost, many of which include both breakfast and free wifi.
