“Legendary Shopping, long walk to carry your goods”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

One of the most famous malls in western canada, it has a variety of great activities within the mall to entertain any traveller such as waterslides and hte casino. There are endless stores and options throughout the mall. the only down side with a mall this big, is the size! To buy anything substantial or more than a few items, its is often a very long walk back to the car to drop off goods and the underground parking doesnt always feel the most secure especially in the burbon street entrance. At christmas time this mall is crazy busy, parking is difficult at any entrance and shopping carts or strollers are pretty much impossible to maneuver through the crowds. So if you only need a quick couple items, I recommend South Gate Mall or south common instead but overall West Edmonton has enough to fill your day, fill your shopping bags and you can top it off with some amazing food and entertainment

“Needs a bit more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

Love West Ed... I go there at least 3 times a week. But I feel like there is something missing. It's becoming more of a mondern renovated mall instead of a vacation spot. When I did my research on West Edmonton mall before I moved to Alberta .. I thought it would have cool things and rides and stuff to see all over the mall.... Now there is alot more seating and it looks good but its very boring.

“Tacky”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Too many small store competing against each other for the same customers. Consumerism gone rampant. Fantasyland and the pool are so-so, just over-priced 'attractions' with little value.

“Excellent Shopping 1 improvment would make it Perfect”

Everything you need all in one building: shopping, waterslides, rollercoasters then catching a movie before bed (which is also avaliable). Mini Golf & Ice Skating
They usually also put on a marine show for children with the animal they are caring for (I've seen the penguins, dolphins, sea lion, there are more I haven't seen.)
Parking with a camper is impossible, don't try you can get better use of your time shopping.
Plenty of Parking across the street from the mall. (Use to be Free...not sure if it still is).

“Not exactly a vacation destination.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

Sometimes branded as a vacation, this mall, really is just the same old Foot Locker/Gap/Orange Julius mall everywhere else, spread over 10 km. Add in a variety of under-maintained tourist activities, such as mini-golf, an amusement park, water park, edge-of-cruelty marine animals, and a hockey rink. I cant speak for the hotel, but judging from pictures I've seen, it's exactly the same as in 1985..except the comforter is a bit dirtier. They killed their Dolphins, they killed their roller-coaster riders, and they killed their previous fantasyland theme park, due to the existence of another fantasyland theme park, in California, opting for a Galaxy which bears the appearance of 3rd grade paper mache.
