Sabor Divino is a welcoming space, in a heritage building with massive original wooden beams supporting the roof. They have made tasteful updates and there is a warm ambience, with live piano several nights a week.
To start we were served really fresh bread and some delicious Turkish olives. My wife and I shared two appetizers, both beautifully prepared. The squid was perfectly cooked and very tender, and was served with a smooth white bean puree and some flavourful chorizo. The salt cod cakes were also tasty. As a main course, my wife had the pork and clams and was amazed at how tender the pork was cooked. I had a mixed seafood plate served in a tomato based broth and enjoyed prawns, clams, mussels, lobster, and sea bass.
We ended the meal with dessert and one of my favourite things about Sabor Divino is that you can get a "sample size" of any of their desserts for $4. For somebody who wants a smaller dessert, one of these could easily satisfy, or choosing two of them would be about equivalent to a normal size dessert and lets you sample more than one item.
Our server was good, very knowledgeable and friendly yet did not intrude on our experience.
Our bill for 2 apps, 2 mains, 2 desserts, and a $44 bottle of Marsanne was $180 including tax. For us this still came off as a really good value due to the amazing seafood. There are a variety of dishes on the menu and as you would guess the ones featuring chicken, pasta etc. are less expensive than the steak and fish.
Looking forward to going back!
