Owner description: Open May Long weekend to October each year, the streetcar's views of the city and the river are absolutely amazing. This is also the best way to get from the farmer's market to downtown.

“A fun little piece of history”

I used the streetcar to get between the Strathcona Farmer's Market and the downtown farmer's market, as I wanted to visit both. I took the earliest train on the way there, and the conductor was full of information and really fun. On the way back, it was more busy, so I don't think he was able to talk as much, so I recommend going early. It's a great view and the streetcars are beautiful.

“One of Edmonton's most treasured attractions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We did the High Level Streetcar during our stay in Edmonton. We had tried to do it once before back in July 2003, but the trolley's pantograph had broken so we could not do it. This time 10 years later, we made sure we were going to do it. After some very confusing issues with parking, we picked it up at Old Strathcona and rode the entire loop across the bridge to downtown and back. We managed to do it on the Wednesday before the Fringe Festival was scheduled to begin, which there were tents and banners set up in the Old Strathcona district where we picked it up. As for the bridge crossing, you get an amazing view being right on the very top (we had driven over the same bridge 2 days previously and you are right underneath the tracks when you drive over it) and the conductor gave some information about some of the sights along the route. Anyone who likes historic streetcars must do this attraction.

“A must for history buffs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

We caught the last car over to Strathcona. We were not charged by the great volunteer because we had no way of getting back. He then spent the entire trip answering all our questions and giving us the history. It was great!

“A Unique Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

We were lucky to have been able to ride two different streetcars on the same day. Not only are the restorations beautiful, the volunteers are kind and full of knowledge they are passionate about sharing. The cost for tickets we found to be very reasonable.

“Everyone should experience this”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

It's great to ride in an old trolley that has been beautifully refurbished by volunteers, along a track that provides views you won't get any other way. The trip across the High Level Bridge is truly spectacular. Ride the streetcar just for the views and the helpful background history from the volunteer operators, or use it as a convenient way to get in and out of Strathcona during the weeks of transportation disruption also known as The Fringe. There's an easy transfer to Grandin station on the LRT at the northern end of the street car line.
