Fusion at its best. The food, the decor, the wine, the service, it ALL blends into an amazing experience. Truly unforgettable - on my way again!

“Great atmosphere and decor, just don't be in a hurry...”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

I really like Alloy - the decor is bright and modern with a touch of early 60s/mid-century chic (think 'Mad Men') and it's a welcome upscale venue in this part of town. Really creative menu that has some interesting takes on old classics like fish and chips. The food is consistently good, but as had been noted by other reviewers here, the portions are a little on the small side. Also, the kitchen is consistently slow. My experience has been that from time of order to arrival of food can be up to an hour - and that's at lunch. Of course, things move faster if you don't have a slow server and/or you order before the start of a rush. A slow kitchen isn't necessarily a problem in the evening or If you have a leisurely 2 hours set aside for lunch. If not, I recommend arriving before 1130AM and getting your order in as soon as possible. This should ensure you will be able to enjoy your meal without worrying about the time. Tip: If the weather's nice, ask to be seated in the lovely courtyard patio area when you make your reservation.

“Amazing ambiance at Alloy”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

I love the luxurious ambiance at Alloy. The restaurant itself is plush and beautiful. I enjoyed the food, but I found the portions to be on the small side for the price. I enjoyed the lobster tempura and crab cakes. The wine list is extensive but a bit over-priced and we found the service to be somewhat lack-luster (but I find this generally the case with larger dining groups where gratuity is automatically charged). The dessert portions again were small, but maybe you are supposed to fill up on the surroundings and not the food.

“First time at Alloy - I'll be back!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

I live near this place and drive by often, but had no idea it was there until a business dinner this week. From the outside it looks like an unassuming 60's insurance brokerage office, but inside it is lovely. The food was a treat. My appetizer was truffle gnocci which (for me) could have used some ground pepper. I had the feature entre - swordfish - which was delicious! Not cheap, but portions are decent size and our whole group of 7 enjoyed it very much.
