This place is teeny tiny and doesn't take reservations, but lining up to get in is part of the fun - they hand out red blankets and give you your coffee while you wait on the street. It's local food and fabulous gluten-free and vegetarian selections, which makes for a great experience when you can order almost anything on the menu regardless of your restrictions. Nice size portions (not too big, not too small) and bustling atmosphere, with pleasant service. Definitely pricey though, so check the menu online before lining up to make sure you'll be happy. We've had a good experience every time.

This place was crammed even on a weekday morning at 8:30am; it's small but popular for good quick food. They bring you coffee right away while you wait and have a nice patio area for you to stand around in so you're not towering over the diners making them feel rushed. In the winter the patio has an awning and heaters, and in the spring, it's got blankets so you can cuddle up and still bask in the sunshine. The veggie omelet was delightful.

This is the restaurant closest to my home and I will never, ever go there again. I find the staff and owner to be very elitist, servers are snotty and overall not very nice. They are not welcoming to families or children and they are obvious about it. I have seen them turn away a paying customer with a stroller citing there was no room for the stroller, they then suggested she go up the street to the coffee shop. It is a tiny restraurant but this was during the summer when the patio was also open and the stroller would have been accomodated easily. My husband was also turned away one day when he popped in for a take out burger and fries for me while I was undergoing chemotherapy. He was told that the griill was too busy to prepare a take out order. I was happy to hear that he made it known that the burger was for his wife who was sick from chemotherapy and couldn't eat in. He left and we have not been back since. I am always amazed at people who line up day in day out to eat overpriced, limited menu fare and get treated miserably.

Dairy Lane is a very nice place but over the years and more than a few visits we've given up - it's way to pricey for what you get and there is much better in the city for the money - especially if you have to wait in line.
