Description: Inspired our iconic Palliser Hotel history and the authenticity of the 1920s, the Rimrock Dining room invites you to try Fairmont’s genuine luxury cuisine with the taste and feel reminiscent of the ‘golden-era of travel.’ The Rimrock is open daily for breakfast and offers dinner service Thursday through Sunday evenings in a historic room revived with prohibition-themed décor. You’ll be blown away by the hand-tooled leather pillars and famous heritage fireplace. Our brand new menu created by Executive Chef, Eraj Jayawickreme, is sure to please too. Indulge in our Feta-encrusted Lamb Sirloin paired with confit shallots and warm quinoa salad, the delicious Chardonnay-brined Half Chicken or the classic and succulent Alberta Beef Tenderloin accompanied by Horseradish Pomme Puree and roasted mushrooms. The finale, house-made desserts with a modern twist will leave you wanting more, most notably, the delectable Melting Chocolate Sphere with black pepper sponge, lemon curd and raspberries.

And we were quite disappointed with our meal at there main restaurant the rimrock, hot bowl with cool soup of the day..... Microwaved, I hope not. A staple of old classic restaurants, French onion soup, lacked flavour spice zest taste, nothing special and only lukewarm, sorry must be having a bad soup night. Nope, classic steak dishes we all had tenderloin, disappointing mediocre steak night. Service was quick and efficient , simon you did a good job.
Cocktails and music in lounge after, that's a good idea, till the entertainment ( which seemed pretty good for the two songs we heard) shut down at 10 o clock, on Friday night, in downtown ...... You must be kidding, nope not kidding here, just disappointing for what should have been a classic good meal in a classic hotel. Hope the the room and stay I have booked is a better experience. Stay tuned for future updates on the rooms......

We decided to eat supper and breakfast here while staying at the Fairmont Palliser, where this restaurant is located. They had a special buffet supper with a decadent chocolate dessert bar. If this buffet had been in another restaurant it wouldn't have been $50 per person. The continental buffet had a large selection but, again, pricey at $23 per person. We would never have done this had it not been part of our Christmas splurge.

The food was very good as was the service. But, for the price, I would have liked more hot items for the supper. Breakfast had a large amount of choices though.

Thank Cindy E

We had a lovely weekend in Calgary, at one of the nice old Fairmont Hotels & decided to have dinner at the Rimrock on the second night . The ambiance matched the hotel, dark wood, big fireplace , the usual comfortable western canadian ambiance .The service was excellent ( thanks Simon!) and the wine list was good. We ordered no starters ( but got pleasant ahi tuna amuse-bouches. ) We both ordered 6oz. tenderloins with a scallop/shrimps and it was very nice……I was just a bit surprised that " medium" was so well-done . The waiter had nodded at our order and said " pink in the middle " ….but they were cooked throughout. That said, they were very tender and I did not make any comment about it. Hot espressos. Nice dinner . We would go back….
