“Not quite a deli, not quite a restaurant, but something inbetween”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

Our first visit to Slolumbo's was interesting, educational and tasty. Its a cafeteria style Italian almost deli staffed by the young and uberhip on the day we visited. Nice people working to make good fresh sandwiches in a smallish space behind the counter. Deli meats are pre-cut in hunks and then microwaved with cheese and other fixings before hitting the bread. There is a modest selection of sausages and meatballs with other classic deli sandwiches like Reubens and Rachels. Its likely as close as you'll get to a real Montreal deli out here in the West. Food was fresh and good, but lacked any real flair. All in all, good... very good but needs a bump to get it to great. You'll be well fed, it'll be interesting and the sports memorobilia decor is fun in an odd sort of way.. there's enough diversity to appeal to most... great place for lunch or dinner in a hurry. Have fun.

“BY FAR THE BEST FRESH SANDWICHES IN TOWN!!!”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

You just have to go and order one of the fresh sandwiches to know how good they are! Servings are big and can be shared between 2 people. Service great as the business has been a family affair for a long time! Great place to go to after the zoo as it is close.

“Good basic cafeteria style Italian food”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Spalumbos is a cool cafeteria type of place with high end cafeteria italian food. Good selection of beer, an eclectic crowd and friendly efficient service add up to a good casual quick meal

“Good place in Inglewood”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

A good place for sandwiches, and bread + meat food. Simple and fun to eat at for the kids.

They do a good take away and have a spread of things you could ask for in a sandwich joint!

Yumm!

“Canadian Comfort Food Classic”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Its great to see non-chain food joints doing well. Spolumbos is busy, even at 2pm on a Saturday. Their sausages are the BEST, and the only ones I buy, and the restaurant usually has more selection than the Coop and Safeway stores. The restaurant line was long, but moved quickly and the staff came out to the line to get our order prepared so that we could pick it up and go at the cashier.

I had the Chicken & Sage sausage on a bun with a really nice marinara sauce - very tasty. The sausage has so little fat that the marinara gave it a very nice sauciness. My wife had the Reuben, it was excellent - very lean meat, lots of pickles. I would prefer to have toasted bread for the Reuben, things got a bit soggy from the sauerkraut. For a better Reuben, I would go to "Squish" in downtown Banff.

Nice, large seating area, and life music topped off a very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back for more.
