Small restaurant, small portions. I would not go out of my way to dine here. Mexican cuisine can be so much better than refried beans. In this respect, the menu is boring. The ambience is somewhat better than the food.

“Just average.”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Really small Mexican food place, which you would think might equal attentive service, but didn't. Food was was just okay. Wanted another beer after eating, but had to wait too long to get attention.

“Very authentic tasting Mexican”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Small restaurant and nice attention to paid to there customers. Food is really good. Taste was better than what most Mexican restaurants in North America pretend is what Mexican tastes like. The spices and the flavors were excellent.

This isn't anything special, the service is slow and worse than indifferent almost rude, the food is minimally Mexican - not really authentic, and not house made. Portion sizes are small. The prices are quite high (especially because of the portion sizes). My 8 year old finished an adult meal and was still quite hungry. Emplyees seem plentiful, but none seem interested in actually seeing to the customers. Cutlery wasn't on the table, wasn't brought to the table even after food was served. Do we get up and take cutlery off an adjacent table so we can eat? Wait endlessly for the waiter to return while the food gets cold? Sides that we requested (Guacamole) weren't served with the chips and were only brought after entrees were served. The chips had a stale taste and certainly didn't taste home made and fresh. The chips were served cold. I can't imagine walking away hungry from a real Mexican restaurant. Too bad because the interior is cute enough and their location is convenient. It could be a weekly trip! Instead we won't bother going back.

“Pretty good, but nothing special”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

There are a few S&P locations in Calgary. I've been to the ones on Macleod and the newest location in Inglewood. The food is OK, but nothing spectacular. However they do do margharita nights and those are worth checking out for the cheap drinks! They also do taco Tuesdays with all-you-can eat tacos. The best part about Tuesdays is you can switch up the kind of tacos you get: Chicken, pork, beef, or veggie. It keeps the endless tacos from getting monotonous.
