Our group arrived just before the Friday evening rush so we had a choice of tables and weren't faced with a long line-up. The restaurant is looking a little more tired and old-fashioned since our last visit 5 years ago. The good value for money all-inclusive pasta menu is still a very good deal. Our party was happy with the minestrone soup, lasagne/manicotti, ice cream and coffee all in for $12.95. One of our group requires a gluten-free diet. Old Spaghetti Factory has a very uninspiring gluten-free menu so she opted for a spinach salad with chicken on the side. It was absolutely awful! The chicken tasted like re-constituted something. The spinach, complete with long stalks and wilting pieces had just been dumped out of the bag on to the plate with a couple of tablespoonfuls of chopped apple and a teaspoonful of slivered almonds dumped on top of it. It was all inedible and indigestible. The server brought along the manager who listened to the complaint and immediately said that our guest wouldn't be charged for her meal. Problem was our guest went home hungry as there were no other appetizing choices for gluten-free diets, unless you can face another piece of roast chicken for $16. This restaurant would have received a Poor rating based on the salad, but everyone else in the group was satisfied with their choices, and the manager did refund the salad. Check out if OSF have improved their salad presentations yet!!
