Description: At the confluence of then and now. An inspired restaurant and bar in a spectacular setting on the banks of two rivers in the heart of Calgary. Surrounded by beautiful greenery, Deane House is a series of gorgeously decorated rooms, each with its own distinct character. Proprietor Sal Howell, founder of the iconic River Café and long-time champion of seasonal, local, and sustainable food has carefully curated the details. Acclaimed Chef, Jamie Harling, connects daily with local farmers and ranchers, and his menu features an ever-changing array of items from the on-site culinary gardens; it is a thoroughly contemporary celebration of Canadian regional cuisine. I went here for Sunday brunch. I expected the food to be amazing based on other reviews I'd read, but it was very, very average. I honestly could've made it at home. Food made it to the table quickly and hot but it was all very, very bland. The hollandaise sauce was basically tasteless and the French toast was soggy. Not quite cooked enough to make it crispy the way it should be. Bacon looked delicious but again, bland. Our server was very nice and attentive. But based on how bland the food was, I will not be returning.

Friends and I had a fantastic lunch but we did not see the ghost that everyone talks about. First they brought us fresh scones that we so fluffy and perfect. I had the veggie burger and it was perfect. They made it from scratch, no frozen food there. The service was quick, and cheerful. Plus free parking in back which just doesn't exist in many areas of Calgary. I highly recommend lunch here.

Family and friends came to the Deane House for Easter Sunday Brunch. To started with we were served fresh home made Scones and Fresh Fruit bowls. I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny (Martha's egg's Benny?) and it was fantastic. Everyone was very pleased with their menu selections. The portions are very large and the prices are good~ The House is very interesting with a nice view of the downtown City Center and has a lovely riverside walk beside it.
I would highly recommend this restaurant, you won't be disappointed~

Excellent eggs Benedict - their specialty, there are a number of varieties. Other options on the menu are pancakes, French toast and other common breakfast/brunch dishes. It's great to eat in an old house with big windows all around and a park-like setting outside, very relaxing! They have the room to bring together a number of tables for larger groups without it feeling too cramped (though it's still a little tight and may be tough with strollers and wheelchairs). And they do take reservations. Service is friendly, too. I'd definitely recommend for brunch with family and friends in a central location.

The food was sub par and not worth the price for the combination of dinner and the show.
Show was great.
