This is a wonderful B & B in the heart of Calgary. Very Clean and comfortable. Parking is easy with the on-street parking pass they provide. Rooms were delightful and the breakfast was so good. We had met Ron and Michael on a Baltic Cruise last fall and were looking forward to see them again and staying at their B & B, we were not disappointed. Knowing we were driving down from Jasper near the end of a three week road trip, they took the liberty to make dinner reservations for us at a charming Italian Restaurant on 17th Avenue. So charming in a great neighborhood.

Kathy and I stayed at the Mt. Royal Bed and Breakfast during our last trip out from the high Arctic, where we teach. The proprietors, Ron and Michael are a great team; sharing the many responsibilities of running a Bed and Breakfast; and making it look easy when we know from years of traveling and staying at B & B's that it's anything but easy. While sitting on their front porch and enjoying a glass of Alberta wine with them; we enjoyed hearing the story of the many hours spent shopping for antiques and tastefully decorating (and redecorating) the entire house. These two have put their heart and soul into creating a "home away from home"; which feels that way except the breakfasts go well beyond what we would ever consider cooking for ourselves. We've heard the stories of guests actually taking photographs of the breakfast, since the presentation and combination of colors and flavors make the experience truly memorable. During our stay at the Mt. Royal B & B we were given numerous tips on shopping, dining experiences and places to go and things to do that only locals know. Since we always use a rented car when we vacation, the parking passes provided and the additional secure parking available on-site was perfect for our situation. Within easy walking distance is the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, Calgary's central business and shopping core, and many funky dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences. For all the bustle and vibrancy of living in this prestigious area, our accommodation was private, safe, and quiet when it needed to be. We'll be visiting Calgary when we are out next at Christmas and plan to again stay at the Mount Royal Bed and Breakfast. If you loved your grandparent's place with all their beautiful antiques (and wished you had the finances to spend that much on creating an elegant home) and warm cozy feeling; then you'll love the experience of staying at the Mt. Royal B and B. If your standards of cleanliness are well above, and are seldom matched by the usual hotel/motel/B&B then you've found the right place. Ron and Michael are meticulous about maintaining their residence and guest accommodation. If we ever win the lottery and are looking for a house manager/cook/cleaner/decorator - these two are hired!!! From the moment we arrived, Ron and Michael made us at feel at home, with nothing being too much trouble. Our room was beautifully decorated, fresh and delightful as was the dining/sitting room. The equally charming bathroom was right next to our bedroom. from where we could step onto the secluded garden deck and enjoy a glass of sherry from the hosts' decanter. Being located close to a wide range of restaurant choices and only a short walk from Downtown Calgary, Mount Royal was perfect for us. Advice regarding eating and places of interest to visit was very helpful. With parking right outside and chocolate on our pillows, what more could we want?

I loved Mount Royal B and B! Ron and Michael were truly wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and loved those Callibeut chocolates each night! The house is beautiful and in a great area. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and welcoming!

This B and B is in a great location in a neighbourhood of shops and restaurants and near downtown, and it's clean and nicely decorated. However, it's the attention to detail that make it such a find. There's a welcoming glass of sherry, the beds are turned down and a chocolate placed on your pillow, there's a robe and slippers, tea and coffee making things, a lovely back deck to sit on, a large envelope full of menus for local restaurants, etc. The hosts, Ron and Michael, are extremely welcoming and helpful, giving good advice about eating, activities, and travel routes. The breakfasts are fantastic. I'd definitely stay at this B and B again.
