I live in Kensington and the majority of the are pubs are deficient in some manner or another. When Midtown first popped up it certainly screamed "Hipster Nonsense" to me. In reality, it's pretty decent. They have good specials and decent prices. The staff is helpful and friendly and the service is consistently good.

Try the meat plates, flatbread pizzas and the Esser Pino Noir - good value ;)

Had 1/2 rotisserie chicken with skinny fries and southern gravy (white )

Chicken raw at the bone, gravy tasteless , fries undercooked

Maybe drink here and eat elsewhere

This is a new spot in the location of the old Broken Plate in Kensington. This is my neighborhood and I was a little disapointed at yet another pub in an area with several good pubs already - would have rather something new. However, the food was pretty good. We tried a few different appetizers to share: fish tacos, dips, wings and mac n cheese. The fried green beans were really good for a simple dish, they are in a tempura-style batter, great side dish. The food menu is small and it seems like it is limited to what they can prepare fresh and well, so this is a good thing! There is a large drink menu. They offer a rotation of beers on tap and the opportunity to get a flight of four tasting-size servings of beer. I really liked this even though the waitress didn't seem to understand it (the place was new and staff did not seem fully trained yet).

It is a bit noisy and sports-bar-ish, so we sat on the patio. I had the street tacos which were 3 small but very tasty tacos for $10. She had the fish, which was made with cod. Shoe string fries and tartar sauce are made in house and were decent.

Want in the mood for alcohol, so i can't speak to that, but the tea was served in beautiful pot with a large mug. Very nice.
