A wealth of information in spectacular displays. No matter how many times you visit you walk out with a new memory and a sense of awe. The museums have added outdoor displays of hardware and a large indoor space as well. This is a great way to spend a few hours on any kind of day.

Wow. My 8 yr-old son was simply amazed. Every room held his attention! I also brought a 21-yr-old male (friend of the family) who too was simply amazed by it all. I was shocked at how large it was, how real everything was, how well they captured the moments of time. It is truly worth a visit - worth a few visits really. If it was an adult only visit, I would've spent more time reading and the visit would've taken longer than 3 hours........so with that said, in order to keep the attention of the younger folks, the artifacts were truly meaningful even though we were there for just under 3 hours. It asks below about a few items I cannot answer because we simply didn't require their use ie: stroller / elevator / wheelchair access.....I would suggest a quick call or visit their website. We will be back =O)

But if you are a military buff, then this is the place for you. It has museums for each of the 4 army regiments - Princess Patricia's, King's Own, Lord Strathcona's and Calgary Highlanders. There is the Army museum, Navy and Air Force as well as an art gallery.
Really well worth the trip.

There are active service men and women that work there as well as veterans and volunteers. They have tons of stories to tell. Some of the WWII vets are getting older and it is worth the visit to listen to their first hand accounts.

All they ask for is a donation. If you have a large family and don't have a lot of money, this will keep the family entertained and educate them on our history. For a city the size of Calgary I was impressed by it.
