“Good food, average ambiance. Got to another place for pizza”
Reviewed January 13, 2012

I wanted to try a stone oven pizzeria closer to home than Famoso in Mission or Pulcinella in Kensington. Though the toppings on my pizza, funghi, truffle oil and prosciutto, were awesome amazing, the restaurant overall lacks class and pizazz and the dough was basic. Our server was very friendly but not knowledgable of wine and the house wine was bland, though buzzy. Next time I will make the effort to drive a bit further for the atmosphere and the authentic crust.

“Delicious”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

We tried the Toscana Grill after word of mouth reviews that talked of the good food here.

We were concerned as often Italian resturants can be overpriced, not the case here. We found it reasonable with very good sized portions.

Two in our party had veal dinners and all were amazed at the portion sizes, both were not able to finish them. It was real veal, not breaded patties, accompanied by pasta with a fresh marinara sause, fresh vegetables a plenty. I had a spicy Italian sausage pizza from the stone oven, very good.

This resturant is better than the ratings, really worth a try.

“Fabulous food, fabulous staff!”
Reviewed November 10, 2011

My family and I have gone to Toscana Italian Grill twice since it opened this year. Both times we were greeted by friendly, genuine staff. Both times we enjoyed fabulous services, and both times the food was fantastic. There's a relaxing atmosphere and impressively decorated. Very warm and inviting.
The first time we had a group of 6 people, and we all ordered something different from the menu. The food came in a timely fashion, and it was delicious. Each of us marveled at how terrific it was. The owner came to ask how our experience was, and ended up staying to visit with us for a little while. He's the reason the rest of the staff are so pleasant, I am sure, because he must make it a wonderful place to work with his personality and great sense of humour. It was the same great time the second time we went as well. :)
People may be leery to go to Toscana, because there's been several businesses in that location from other restaurants to pubs....however, my family and I really hope this one will be there for many years to come. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed!
