“Great staff, nice pool”
Reviewed July 17, 2011

Days Inn are usually good hotels, and this one did not disappoint. The room and breakfast area are sparkling clean, and the room is comfy and spacious. The bed is firm, which is not my favourite, but has nice linens. A big bonus was being offered the hotel's pass for the Calgary Tower, that saved us $30 for two people (but don't lose it, or you will need to pay to replace it). All staff were friendly and chatty. No hesitation in staying here again.

Room Tip: 4th floor city view has a great night view of downtown.

Was just staying here to catch an early flight to toronto the next day and the rooms are huge! ITs definitely worth the money, its about 10 mins from the airport, tim hortons and macdonalds are next to it, so its convenient. If you want proper food, tony romas, chilis and hooters are about 20 mins walk away, which was what we did, we walked there in the bitter cold! Breakfast was a basic affair, nothing fancy, just toast, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, nothing to shout about, then again, for the price, its acceptable. Wifi was provided free, was a hit and miss affair. First 30 mins of usage, it constantly drops the connection but from there, it worked like a charm throughout the day and nite. All in all, its a basic hotel, worth the money, near to the airport, wont hear the planes for sure, good for a 1 nite stay compared to the other "higher end" hotels around the vicinity..

Just completed a 3 night stay at this hotel. Stayed on 3rd floor with double queens. Very Spacious room with plenty of room for luggages and walking around. The furniture is not obstructive or large which is why its so roomy. There is a small cabinet beside the open closet that houses the microwave, fridge and coffee/tea maker with enough a pair of glasses and mugs. There is also the ice bucket and three plastic disposable cups in the bathroom counter. Your toiletries include: Shoe mitt, shampoo and conditioner and two soaps. There is no luggage rack however which could be helpful. There is a good large air conditioner in the room that can provide heat vent and cooling. The small window can be opened as well for fresh air. The beds are better than average quality and there are 6 light features outside the bathroom for your lighting. The desk is adequate and complimentary wireless internet is also provided. At least the speed is decent. I guess wireless is more popular than wired. The bathroom is single sink and enough counter space for your own toiletries. Its laminated plastic surface so just your average hotel quality. The tiles are the orange/beige colour which doesn't appeal to me as it looks dated. The bathtub is lower and the curtain is decent quality although it was hard for me to adjust just the right temperature for the shower as it was either too hot or cold with the slightest adjustment. The hook behind the door is starting to peel off. The towels are average as they are not plushy and thick. The complimentary continental breakfast is good, since it includes hard boiled eggs and a waffle maker in addtion to your regular fare. Served between 6am and 10am for early risers in a separate room on the main floor. Free Coffee and use of a toaster oven available in the lobby all day. There is even fresh baked cookies at the front desk which are really nice touch for kids and adults. Bring your own laptop or else you will be paying $10 per half hour to use the PC in the lobby. If you forget toiletries or need a snack or meal, you can purchase it at the convenience corner in the lobby. Frozen entrees are available for you to heat up in your room. Staff is friendly. Ample parking front and back of hotel. Pool and fitness centre available for your use.
Book in advance as far as possible as this is a popular hotel

Booked this Days Inn for the first night-stay after flying in from Germany. Got very fast answer to inquiry. As we are a family of 5, we had been offered an extended Queen suite which met our needs perfectly. Girls were happy with indoor swimming pool but mentioned some areas there that better had to be cleaned up. Room was clean and tidy, breakfast more than expected. Loved those little things like magnets to fix the shower curtain ;-) Oh but don´t trust the direction instructions - you won´t find "Sunridge Boulevard" on the Barlow trail signs.... Next to hotel is a McDonalds and a Tim Hortons

I was booked by my company in this hotel. They gave me two queens even though I am solo traveller because the rate is better than a One queen or one king bed room. There is a small microwave, and a mini fridge. Fair size, square shaped dining table with two chairs. Spacious room for luggages and does not feel cramped overall for the room. Excellent larger AC/FAN/Heater unit. Even a low speed for air conditioning, it was more than adequate. Good wireless internet speed and access. Bathroom fair size, counter space in bathroom is good. Toiletries is the usual Bar soap, shampoo and conditioner and shoe mitt. No hand or body lotion. Three glasses and bucket for ice. Coffee & tea making facility only has one MUG though which won't be sufficient for 4 people. Complimentary Continental breakfast downstairs is sufficient as boiled eggs and yogurt is also included with the bagels/bread, cereals, fruits, coffee, juice, milk. Overall, good value since it was $135+++ per night Was asked about my stay twice when I passed the lobby and how my room was by front desk staff. Location is good IF you have a car because of Calgary's urban sprawl. If you are here on business for a few days and do not have a car, u can eat in the surrounding McD, Tim Hortons, other hotel restaurants like Ric's Grill and a strip mall nearby. If you can walk further, there are more amenities nearby like Cineplex, Sunridge Mall, big box stores. If you are driving, excellent location as you are completely surrounded by amenities. Pool is good with hot tub and waterslide. Around you are Four Points by Sheraton and Staybridge.

DISLIKES: No option of WIRED internet in room. No offer of at least a few utensils like plates, knife, forks, spoons, extra mugs, bowls. Rooms should have more sound proofing from the airplanes that fly near there.
