This restaurant is fantastic for so many reasons, but above all may be the fact that the owner of this extremely successful sushi restaurant doubles as a waiter, constantly monitoring the food, service and atmosphere, and making sure it is up to the standard that has been set for this establishment. Every time I come here I decide to sit at the centre bar, and the ability to watch the chefs prepare the food is really cool, intriguing and interactive. Each plate of food is priced according to plate colour which allows you to easily keep track of your balance at any one given time. Also, the staff is efficient in turning the restaurant over quickly which is helpful considering this place is bursting at its seams at pretty much any one given time. The quality is fantastic and for the price you can't go wrong.

time: Saturday at 12:30. Lunch
The restaurant was packed and the food was so fresh! Somtimes Kinjos food can be pretty low in quality but today it was fantastic.

Some of the rules and formalities of the restaurant that can be annoying are: they will not seat you until your whole party arrives, they will not split your bill, they may vocalize it if you they feel you do not tip enough...their water is pre pours and sits on the counter by the door, they charge you a dollar per a pop refill.

Its pretty crowded so if you go with more then one person, wait for a booth.

They give free pockey to only women and four free sample sushi pieces when you are seated: deep fried californiar oll, salmon roll, volcano roll and a roll is octapus.

They charge you by the color of the plate. Compared to other sushi restaurants in calgary, Kinjo is the cheapest.

Lunch time on Saturday is pretty good quality compared to other times. Some good items: Yam tempura roll, philidelphia roll, california roll (all red plates) Good other meal items green beans, chicken fried rice.

Service is average.

This place has pretty average sushi. It's not awful but there are much better places in town. The staff is friendly. Go to Zipang or Misato or even Towa instead.

I always enjoy eating here. The sushi, sashimi, tempura, chicken udon and miso soups, teriyaki chicken and coconut surprise, are all yummy and fresh. The staff is entertaining to watch them cook and their singing to customers celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and even just people from out of town at times lol. All the staff just stop what they are doing to sing, it's great! You can sit at the bar or select booths to grab some sushi from the boats as they float by as well as order from the menu. The prices are decent and they have a nice little touch of giving pocky to the ladies. My favourite sushi restaurant!
