Awe-inspiring relics. Some beautiful art and interesting fashion, customs and history depicted. Not expensive and definitely worth the browse for the whole family.

“Scanty Exhibits displaying Chinese Tradition”
Reviewed December 1, 2011

I visited the Museum with my husband, as we both are history lovers. We liked the exhibits that were on display however, it was like paying 4 dollars for just 4 exhibits, there's not much that you can explore inside the museum. Mainly the terracotta statues with a few posters describing them in detail, royal furniture where one can count the dragons, traditional Chinese dresses and shoes, a poor imitation of a traditional Chinese seismic earthquake detector, a room full of contemporary history of the Chinese who came to Calgary and that's all. So it equates to one dollar per exhibit. The only exhibit that I personally liked was the Bronze singing fish basin, which was entirely eye catching, but it was more physics that history in it. The gift shop stores a good variety of stuff but is very highly priced one can get more or less all those things in Chinatown a few blocks behind the museum.
