The Palliser is lovely -- big, high vaulted lobby, updated well-appointed rooms. The staff is superb.
But when are high end hotels going to get the memo that the rest of the world is giving away wi-fi for free? It's like charging for hot water.
Instead, these hotels want 13 or 15 dollars a day, perhaps the single most alienating thing they can do to their customers [I understand most are business travelers and expense it]. I was told if I signed on to their 'loyalty club' wi-fi would be free. I do not feel loyal to hotels that charge for wi-fi. But I am a cheap bast'd so I did it. I felt like I was like making a hostage tape. I told that to the poor person on the phone and at least she laughed.
