Stayed here for one night with a friend whilst visiting Calgary. Expected a lot from a Fairmont property and it don't necessarily blow me away. The service was great at the front desk and the guest services were also extremely helpful. In fact everyone we met were pleasant and accommodating. The room was quite large, was equipped with iron, board, tv and mini bar. The bathroom could definitely have spared a few more amenities for a five star hotel. We were situated on one of the top floors which did not have any view. Room
Service was pretty good. We didn't have to pay a wi Fi charge as we were president's club members but it was steep at around $16 dollars per
24 hours if you're not a member. The hotel is extremely well located with concierge out front, taxis lined up outside to take you places and the railway station is a couple of blocks away. We only ate in our room but the hotel is situate right down town and a few blocks from the shopping mall, restaraunts and bars.

We stayed on the gold floor on July 20th 2012.Having previously stayed on the gold floor on repeated ocasions over the last few years;our expectations were not met for the first time.
Dust was ample on all black sufaces in the room, the check in area and the lounge.
Folded towels in the room were cold and damp; and we were missing a towel and bathrobe despite the fact that we had made an advance reservation for an extra person.
The keys no longer worked to access room after beeing given late check out accessUpon this discovery we met a very unfriendly staff member who just said that we needed to proceed to the fronf desk(despite the he had access entry to all rooms)
.We definitely preffered the concierge on the same floor as the room prior to the renovation. the new beautiful decor;the gold floor lacks the personal service of beeing on the same floor as the concierge.
On a positive side; the hors D'oerves and breakfast were spectacular!Unfortunately the lounge is kept way too cool (air conditioning) therefore not allowing us to relax and enjoy.
The newly renovated rooms are beautiful. The swithch is Victorian to clean and modern. The beds ,linens and toiletteries are of fine quality.
I would like to compliment a certaib bellman "Neil".He treated us with great welcome and respect and he ensured that our expectations were met to the best of his capacities.

Fairmont hotel was a great place to stay for my wife and our dog. Hotel is very classy, clean and in a nice part of town. Only a couple of blocks walk from their pedestran walking are. The people working at the hotel were great. The archatecture is beautfully restored. The thing that interested me the most was that I could take a lot of pictures in which the new and old buildings together made for great pictures. If you enjoy being treated like you matter, than this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Join the Fairmount Preident's club before you go, you will get a great room and view.

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Fairmont Palliser during your recent visit to Calgary. Our colleagues take great pride in creating lasting memories for our guests. We are so pleased that you were able to take advantage of our property’s city-centre location and that you enjoyed our hotel’s architecture. The Fairmont Palliser opened its doors in 1914 and since then has been a historic gem in the heart of the city. We hope to have you stay with us again in the future.

The Fairmont Palliser is a nice hotel located in a historic building. I found the Internet to be extremely fast, which was a definite plus!

The staff is not particularly helpful, which is unfortunate because it takes away from the luxury experience. The property is quite old but they were in the middle of a renovation while I was there. Perhaps they are limited in what they can do because of the hotel's status as a heritage building.

The room was large and spacious, which was excellent, however the bathroom was minuscule in comparison. If you are the kind of guest who likes a lot of space in the bathroom area, you will find the size quite disappointing.

My stay was enjoyable however it was not exceptional by any means. I am not particularly inclined to return to the Fairmont Palliser next time I am in Calgary because there was nothing that particularly stood out about my experience.
