Spent the night with our little kiddies in a one bedroom suite. Perfect, as they were able to go to sleep at a decent time and we could relax in the other room! Last time we stayed we had one of the "large" rooms, which was huge. However, we really appreciated having two separate rooms to sleep in. Loved the pool and our 5-year old enjoyed getting her nails done at the spa. Might have a fashionista on our hands.

Best part of the stay, in my girls' opinion, was the pool. However, if you ask us adults, our dinner at the Rimrock was tops. The service is great and the food is amazing! Best risotto and banana splits we've ever had! We spend a lot more on dinner there than other restaurants, but we are NEVER disappointed. Very memorable. Kids meals are excellent. Fantastic options for vegetarian/ odd eaters (like myself). Steak was fantastic. Bravo to the chef! Great service, as well.

Great check in and check out by Lise at the front desk.

Only disappointing thing was the welcome amenity ( a perk of the President's club). Not nearly as good as any of the other Fairmonts we stay at. It arrives late, is super tiny, not creative, etc. Pretty underwhelming.

Room Tip: No great views in this hotel (from what we've seen). Suite and Large rooms are great for families.

This place was fantastic in every way...my husband and I stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Upon checking in they said happy anniversary to us. I'd say the price you pay is reasonable considering all the little touches they do..we used the indoor pool which has a relaxing spa-type feel to it...we received complimentary strawberries covered with chocolate, a little card saying happy anniversary and they even called us a fee times to check that everything was to our liking!! The service really made this a great place for our anniversary!!! Great location..we'd definitely stay here again!

This superb hotel opened in 1914 and has, I'm sure, improved upon itself each successive decade. Its rooms may be somewhat smaller than more modern hotels, but are superbly appointed and spotlessly clean. The pool features Greek Revival architecture with a hot tub and steam room adjacent. Public areas feature high ceilings with ornate columns and architectural accents. Cuisine is outstanding. It's a lovely, comfortable hotel. Of all the hotels I've stayed at, this is absolutely one of the finest. And in my home town. Who knew?

Had the opportunity to stay at the Fairmont Palliser this past November as part of a business trip to Calgary. Our room was a 'Junior Suite' with king bed and separate sitting room. Overall the room was comfortable enough, however, I would suggest upgrading to the 'Gold' level, which provides an additional level of luxury. Overall this hotel leaves you with a feeling of nostalgia as a result of the age of the building and classic finishes that are still in place throughout. One caution would be to try and get a room facing away from the railway tracks behind the building ... not a huge problem, but this would take away a slight annoyance that we had.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on other side of building from railway tracks.
