“Nice waterfront pathway”

Bow river sets at the edge of the downtown district. Very peaceful and nice walk on the path next to the water.

“Wild and Beautiful”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

As a visitor, this river defines Calgary, in my view, both geographically and culturally. I have seen it four times, in both winter, spring and summer, and it is captivating, especially after its June 2013 flooding.
It provides rafting, walking and biking trails, and infinite opportunities for photographers. Its bridges are varied in their construction and message - the 2012 Peace Bridge, (at 10th Street NW) for example, provides a modern take compared to the older bridges downstream, and says that Calgary is emerging and maturing on the world stage.
It makes for a more challenging drive in the downtown area due to one way streets and the necessity of knowing just where that "one" intersection is, in order to access the NE and NW quadrants!
Post flood it was a mud colour, while prior to that it had a more blue/green hue. The colour is still changing as of July 2013.
Whether you wish to walk, bike, or photograph, or simply take in the wonders of nature, come and look at the Bow.

“Picturesque and Close to the City”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We went walking around this area - the temperature was about -10C so not many people around. But this would be a great area in Summer with extensive parkland along the river.
