The Bow River is not a spot to visit but rather a length of river that stretches about 500 km from the head waters high in the Rockies east to beyond Medicine Hat, near the Alberta and Saskatchewan border. It consists of various types of river flow (rapids, lazy flows, dams and weirs). Crystal blue in the summer, it hosts prime trout fishing sections. Suitable for canoists and kayakers or for simply drifting along in a raft. It is not uncommon to spot various wildlife including deer, antelope, eagles or pelicans along its course through the foothills and prairie.
