The Bow River is not a spot to visit but rather a length of river that stretches about 500 km from the head waters high in the Rockies east to beyond Medicine Hat, near the Alberta and Saskatchewan border. It consists of various types of river flow (rapids, lazy flows, dams and weirs). Crystal blue in the summer, it hosts prime trout fishing sections. Suitable for canoists and kayakers or for simply drifting along in a raft. It is not uncommon to spot various wildlife including deer, antelope, eagles or pelicans along its course through the foothills and prairie.

Calgary was under a snow storm. Walkway to Canada Place, so anyone doing government business would like this. Calgary downtown is well connected with walkways to keep you out of traffic and inclemant weather.

Kayaked this river. Beautiful scenery. Smooth in spots, shallenging in spots, fair amounts of pull outs for pee breaks and snack and lunch. Was a great sunny day.

Very scenic. You can also raft down the Bow in the summer, but make sure you're using life jackets and a high quality white water raft!

Spent many an evening just walking along the stunning river form where we were staying into Cochrane itself, we also spent time by the river when in Banff, the river never lost any of it's glory.
