We thought we were going to be seeing some real gardens so imagine our surprise when we found a lovely open space-----for a food court and many fast food vendors! While Devonian Garden boasts having vertical planters that form "walls", we chuckled to ourselves. If your kids are hungry and if you are footsore, it may be worth a stop. The open, airy architecture is lovely but it is not out of the ordinary.

Interestingly located on the top (4th floor) of the main city centre shopping mall. Recently re-modelled, but still unexpected and restful. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, so it was especially quiet. The re-vamp has led to a reduction in the number of ponds with fish and less places to sit in seclusion. I hope more fish will be introduced to some of the new water features. If it did cost 37 million dollars (see Brad P review) it was not value for money. Seems to be more laid out for corporate eventing now? However, it is still good to see, with the 'green wall' being a new installation. Previous visits (pre-rebuild) have been during the week when it used to be really busy, especially at lunchtimes. The springy floor around the childrens play area is fun!!

Sadly the gardens are now more in line with a "sanitized corporate food court". I have seen dentist offices with more character. Shame on the city for botching what was once a urban oasis and replacing it with this mess. If you enjoy the water features, flowers, artwork and character then find somewhere else to go because you won't find it here. Truly a waste of 37 million dollars.

Have been here before and liked the serene atmosphere in the middle of a busy downtown mall. They have renovated and it is no longer what it was. It's just a suburban mall court with the ventilation fan in the background, close to a food court. Hate it now!

We wandered around the downtown area for awhile and came across this garden on the 4th floor of an indoor mall complex. It was a quiet relaxing place to take break. There is a food court nearby to grab a coffee or a snack. A very nice green space, too bad more big shopping malls didn't have something like this.
