Nice hotel, friendly staff the only reason I am not giving it a higher rating is because of the parking
My wife and I were attending an event downtown so we planned on driving and parking at the event for free then return to the hotel via a Cab that night.
When we arrived, we were directed to the hotel parkade by the doorman. Being familiar with how parking works in the rest of the downtown on a weekend we expected to pay maybe 5-8 dollars max to get back out after we checked in,we went to the room and got dressed for the event (45 Mins).

When we left the parkade it was a 25 dollars charge to get out. It turns out they don’t charge by the hour like the rest of the downtown core but have a flat fee of 25 dollars for 24 hrs. . It doesn’t matter if you are staying in the hotel or not .According to the front desk you get charged that fee no matter how long you are in the parkade.
I understand charging the general public that amount for a week day, because of location but charging your guests that amount on the weekends is excessive. I am in building management and know the cost of operating a parkade this is gouging plain and simple

I get the same reaction from people I tell the story to “That’s gouging”

If you do have to stay at this hotel on a weekend
Park at the BOW or another building and walk the ½ a block its heated underground and 5 dollars a day on the weekend

Room Tip: Stay on the east side, as the construction of the new Brookfield building on the west side will wake you up at 6 AM even on a Sunday

The Hyatt in downtown Calgary is close to everything... Steps to the train, half a block from all of the restaurants and bars on 8th, and close to the Calgary Tower. The lobby lounge is great with comfy furniture and good drink selection, there's a Starbucks in the lobby and nice rooms. My king sized bed was comfy, there's a coffee maker and desk and nice reading chair in the room. The valet parking is very convenient and quick. Two train stops to the stampede grounds. Friendly staff at the desk and online check in and check out. Will stay there again.

The location of this hotel was great and definitely the big draw of staying here. The Calgary Tower is literally 200-300m from the hotel entrance, the C-Train Station is less than a 3 minute walk and there are quite a few nice restaurants and shops close by. The hotel is quite large and doesn’t have a very homely feel (as you would expect) and there are quite a few conferences and business type people wandering around and it seemed like we were the only tourists, however none of these are bad things, just what I observed. The rooms were very clean and large and we had a large king sized bed which was very comfortable. The room had good space to store suitcases in the wardrobe and there was a safe. The is a really lovely lounge/bar which has an open fire and a massive bison head on the wall and we went here a couple of times for drinks before going out in the evening. The Starbucks in the hotel was also a great perk for us and we could grab a coffee in the evening before heading back up to the room. The buffet breakfast was lovely (although slightly pricey at $22 each) with a great variety of foods.

Great hotel in downtown Calgary with very friendly staff. Excellent location close to everything. Tastefully updated lobby and rooms, comfortable beds, newly renovated bathrooms. Spa is very relaxing with a wide-range of treatments.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Overall a very good experience. The room was clean and the hotel has a great little fitness area and pool. I experienced a few challenges with the room service food (I wouldn't recommend ordering eggs or sausages for breakfast; tried that twice and same result....). They were experiencing issues with the cable and telephone system when I was there. The bell staff and the housekeeping staff were great.
