If you are looking for an excellent downtown Calgary stay on Saturday night. The International Hotel Suites is the place to stay. Saturday prices are not bad at all, and the rooms are very spacious, comfortable and the staff is excellent. Walking distance from China Town, Eau Claire Market Mall and a great little Mexican pub/restaraunt called Don Quijote, this is a very good place to stay.

Room Tip: VIP Expedia clients will get a little bonus here at this hotel.

We stayed in a King suite which was recommended by the front desk clerk during our reservation and were impressed with the size!
Our adult daughters came for Christmas Eve and we ate around the huge dining table with lots of room to spare.
Staff was excellent, location terrific and a great holiday rate. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location next to the Westin in Calgary. This is an older property that has been very well kept. All suites and very spacious ones at that. Not as fancy as the newer properties but definitely has all you need, plus tons of space, when travelling for business. I would definitely stay here again, msotly for the location and the size of the rooms.

It was a very nice surprise to get a huge suite with a dining room that will seat 6, a mini fridge and a microwave. Bed was a clean and comfy king size bed, a big closet with a robe hanging in it. Two flat screen TVs. Bathroom was very tiny for the size of the room. But it was quiet, clean and in a great location, close to everything. The only disappointment was the fitness room which was in the sub-basement, a little smelly, needs updating. The sign said they were getting two treadmills soon. The front desk was very helpful.

Probably one of the best independent hotels in Calgary. The room is huge with dining area and living room. Two TVs, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, nicely decorated. I can see how a family or couple can really enjoy a few nights here. The hotel is also connected by above ground walkway to other downtown buildings. A little corner store is few blocks away, China town and Chinese Cultural Centre is nearby for cheap eats. Further north of China town is the river walk, great for strolls in the morning. Lobby doesn't look impressive, parkard is aged, but overall, great value for the money.

Room Tip: get the corner King suite on the north side, gives you great river view

The staff at check-in and check-out were completely uninterested in providing friendly service. They might as well use some sort of automated ATM-like check-in.

The room was massive, although as a business traveller staying only one night alone, I didn't need a 2 bedroom suite. The room was too warm and had no method of adjusting the room temperature down, as far as I could tell.

The fitness center was awful. It's in the sub-basement, with very low ceilings, and only a few machines. There were two eliptical machines and two bikes - not even a single treadmill.

For $277/night, I expect a room where I can adjust the temperature and I expect a pretty good fitness center. The International was very disappointing - I won't be staying again.

The International Hotel is a really great place to stay! The rooms are spacious (I had a suite with living room and dining area) and the beds are large and really comfortable. There is free internet, tea/coffee and the globe and mail gets delivered every morning. The staff are really friendly and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a great stay! The location is excellent and free underground parking is available. I'll definitely stay here again next time!
