Excerpt from letter sent to hotel:
"First, one person at the front desk told us we would not be charged for arriving a day late, that the three-night stay would simply be rebooked.
Then, another person at the desk overruled that decision.
The excuse was the hotel was fully booked, a claim made despite an obviously deserted lobby at check-in time and a noticeable lack of vehicles in the parking lot.
So we paid for the day we didn't use, checked out and found another hotel.
In addition to paying for two day's accommodation at the other hotel, we also had breakfast and dinner at their restaurant both days. They will be our hotel of choice when we return to Calgary to visit family and friends.
That is money you lost by being greedy and stupid.
We will be informing as many people as we can about our experience, including your failure to remove the hold placed on our credit card after we checked out. When we checked out, we were told the card would be released, but discovered otherwise later in the day. Cute. Good thing the credit card company intervened."More
