Booked via Priceline for a 1 day layover to get a good nights sleep before driving 1 day to Vancouver BC from Calgary AB. After camping 10 days in Flathead Lake and Banff any port would have been welcome, but the Blackfoot was much better than expected.
When first pulling up, the age of the property was apparent. Non-descript red brick exterior with a few modern touches in attempt to spruce up and modernize the property. I was slightly worried that if the interior matched the exterior, this may not go as planned.
Wrong! We were greeted with fresh cookies at the reception desk and the staff was professional and friendly. Our room was totally remodeled with modern furniture, high end fixtures and marble counter tops throughout. The mini-bar in the room was a nice touch, as was the raindrop shower head and full glass doors. Refrigerator in the room was ice cold and beds were comfortable. Free parking and easy freeway access. We visited Heritage Park earlier and distance from hotel was a breeze. 15 minute drive to downtown Calgary, where we had dinner that night.More
