This hotel had a great sports bar and a great pool. Although it was outside Calgary it was near a shopping centre with good bargains.
would stay again.

The hotel was quite easy to find if you have a map or use MapQuest. The Guest Services staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean with tasteful decor. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a little flat and should be replaced. The food was tasty and comparable in price.

The only bad thing about this hotel is that they charge you $10 a day to hook up your laptop. That is a ridiculous price and just plain dumb!! This should have been included in the $175 a night they charged me!!

We stayed at the Blackfoot because of its location -- it is easy to get to any place in Calgary from the hotel, especially considering the city is a transportation nightmare for the uninitiated.

The hotel is exceptionally quiet -- no noise transfer from other rooms, the hallways, or the Blackfoot Trail. The air conditioning is the quietest I have ever encountered and if you feel like it, you can open a window. The rooms were comfortable and more than adequate for our four-night stay. A bonus is the view of the mountains. Another bonus -- free parking.

The only concern is the slightly overpriced restaurant meals, but that didn't stop us from eating there a couple of times. The breakfast buffet is fine, but limited in its selection. The staff was excellent.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding. Room was clean, noise was mild (plumbing banged and gurgled). Desk staff were friendly on check in. But on check out, they tried to get me to pay someone else's bill (4X what I was expecting). When i pointed out the bill issue, the clerk was slightly rude. Also housekeeping was banging on the door at about 8:30 to clean the room on the day of our checkout. i guess they wanted us to leave early.

if I had not gotten the group rate for the wedding, it would not be worth the price.

We stayed on our way back from the Canadian Rockies, nice room and good location near shopping and entertainment, but a bit far from the airport.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Blackfoot Inn, Calgary while attending a conference also being held on the property. Generally, the experience was a little below average. Firstly, the location of the property is not ideal. It is a 20 minute or so walk to the nearest shopping centre or Light Rail station which is at Chinook. This isolation is also not ideal in that it is situated in a mainly industrial or semi-industrial area. Hence, it means using either public transport or cabs to get anywhere.

Regarding the hotel, we found the condition of the hotel quite adequate. The rooms were a nice size and adequately furnished. Nothing extra special but comfortable. The public rooms of the hotel were similar.
The staff, whilst trying hard, appeared untrained or slightly amateurish. We felt they were definitely in need of hospitality training. As we were part of a conference party of some 180 people all staying in the hotel, it was busy. It was also Stampede week. However, when presented with a request or a problem, not a lot seemed to happen. There did not appear to be a functioning chain of command. Nobody knew who was boss! There was also the unfortunate event of the power blowing throughout the whole hotel during dinner one evening. This really threw the staff into a spin, as nobody seemed to know what to do, who to go to for advice or how to function.

Also, the prices of in-house laundry were extraordinarily expensive and there was no self-serve option at the hotel or within the suburb.

Other than that, it was adequate though not preferred.
