“Great ending to our holiday!”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Everything was great here. Food, service, accommodations, activities for kids, cleanliness.

This is a family run business and they are focused on service and it shows. It was during Stampede and the whole place was decked out and lots of information given to us about the stampede.

They also have a checklist for housekeeping to designate when to come and clean the room, what to replace, what to leave. It was great.

Room Tip: Stay in the older part of the hotel. Closer to pool and more accessible to parking.

I almost did not consider this hotel in my search as I knew that it was an older hotel - but the price was right and the reviews indicated that it would be okay. Well it was better than okay. They have obviously maintained the hotel very well - updating it over the years to provide an excellent place to spend a night or more. Shuttle to and from the airport was prompt and met our expectations.

Stayed at the Port o'Call and we were very pleased that we did. Our room was great. Comfy beds. Very clean. Quiet. We used their pools and they were fantastic. Wading pool for the little ones and 2 fun water slides. So much fun! Their restaurant in the hotel was very clean, and modern. The staff were excellent, wanting to please. The food was great. Buffets for breakfast had a lot of yummy choices. This is a great family hotel.

Stayed here for only one night on a quick get away with the kids, and it was great. We had a spacious room with two queen beds and a pull out sofa. The beds were new and very comfortable with updated decor throughout. Also no issues with actually having three kids...does everyone only have two or less these days???

Anyways the highlight of this place is the waterpark. Two huge waterslides, and a little one with a little kiddie pool for the tots..and a hot tub for the parents to boot. Plenty of towels pool side so you don't need to bring anything with you, only thing that would make it better would be a few extra chairs as it is quite popular. Our kids had an absolute blast and made the price of the hotel (which is quite reasonable for Calgary) worth every penny. Just for information sake, if you want it a little quieter, they actually have another pool and hot tub by their gym area...we found out about it afterwards but didn't get the chance to try it out.

The only downside (or maybe up if you are on a stop over or traveling the next day) is it is extremely close to the airport and our room was alongside of one of the main landing strips which allowed us to hear pretty much every plane that made a landing in the time that we were there....I'm sure it would be a lot less of an issue in the summer though with the a/c turned on.

I have to stay in many hotels often for work but I must say this was one of the best quality locations I've ever stayed at. The staff was exceptionally good with cleaning both rooms and the fitness/pool areas, there were always plenty of towels and everyone was quite courteous and helpful at the front desk.
The weekends became very crowded with kids but during the week i pretty much had the steam room, fitness centre and small pool to myself. This will definitely be my Calgary 'go to' location for mid week visits.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel with our daughters for a weekend getaway and I was overall impressed with the amenities offered here. The Waterpark was awesome and perfect for kids and toddlers as well! We had a room just off the waterpark so it was connected, we could walk right out of our room into the waterpark, perfect for older kids. The location of the room however came with a strong chlorine smell as well as noise late into the evening and early in the morning. If your not with kids or you just want something more quiet I would ask for a room away from the waterpark. We didnt get to try the breakfast cause when asked about it at the front desk when checking in we weren't told it ended at 9:30am, so when we arrived at 9;50am we were told it was closed and there was a 40minute wait for their brunch to start which was also double the price! Obviously with 2 young kids, waiting that long to eat wasn't an option so we had to go somewhere else. They were able to give us a late check out so we could enjoy the pool the next day which was great since that is the main reason we stayed there. Rooms are a little dated but were very clean and comfortable, everything worked. I would stay here again if I came with kids....if I came without kids I would choose elsewhere, just to get something quieter, less busy with families and more upgraded/modern. Like I said before though, it is a perfect place for families with kids of all ages!

Room Tip: Rooms attached to the waterpark are great for older kids who can run back and forth to the pools but...

This hotel is great for families. There is a waterpark that has an area for toddlers with a slide. The food at the Skyharbour restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The underground parking in -30 C was definitely a bonus. Our room was spacious with 2 Queens and a pullout and had a fireplace. There are lots of restaurants nearby and it is close to the airport. Love this hotel and will stay again.
