“A great day!”
Reviewed August 23, 2009

My boyfriend and I just spent the day at Heritage Park. \We had a great day! Weather was awesome and the sites were great! We really enjoyed the boat ride--not wildly exciting but it is nice to be on the water. The train ride was fun, too--a short ride, but fun! The park has recently been refurbished and it looks great. (Also, all the staff is dressed in 'old-fashioned' wear). There are many families there--kids everyone, but it is a treat for all ages.

Admission is $20. Rides in the park are $4, or one can buy a bracelet for unlimited rides for $12. Food was moderately priced.

“Impressive day out”
Reviewed July 17, 2009

We decided to attend Heritage park yesterday. In short I was very impressed. Their employees are dressed in period clothing and each have a character, pertinent to the surroundings. Employees perform many 'traditional' tasks which you can watch and perhaps attempt yourselves. An excellent venue for all.

“Nice outing - but can be expensive”
Reviewed July 19, 2008

Heritage Park is a rather expensive attraction, but if you have coupons can be worth it. For adults, it is always interesting to tour through the homes and structures and try to put yourself in the "what-would-it-have-been-like" mindset; kids enjoy the candy shop, train, gift store, wagon rides and the old-fashioned type of rides/games. Note that if you want to ride the train, boat, wagon, etc. you will need to purchase tickets for those separately and it can add up to $$. Younger children don't seem to get much out of touring through the homes - you really need to have some time and patience to look at the details. There are, however, enough green space and walking/playing areas to allow children to burn off some steam. Keep in mind that because it is an old-fashioned village, roads aren't paved so if it is wet - it will be muddy! There are farm animals to look at, as well (chickens, pigs, etc.). The bakery is always crowded as people try to get their old fashioned home baking! The boat ride is pretty boring; it is nice to be on the water but it just does a big circle - you might get more out of the view without spending the money by just finding somewhere to sit by the water and look around. There is quite a bit of walking to see everything so keep that in mind. On a nice day, though, it is an enjoyable time.

“Heritage Park Christmas weekends”
Reviewed March 27, 2008

We went to Heritage Park in the winter during the Christmas weekends that they have. We picked up a brochure from the tourist information in town to get in for half price on an already considerably reduced price so it was very cheap. The rides and train were closed, but there was Santa Claus and a Christmas market to make up for that. We went for a horse and cart ride and visited all the old houses. There was also carol singing and the houses were decorated with traditional Christmas decorations. It certainly was a full days worth of entertainment.

“Nice but call ahead before visiting”
Reviewed September 14, 2007

Nice place to visit with the kids and for seniors. But just a word of caution have noticed this year the operations of the facility have suffered. Expect buildings and rides to be closed due to staff shortages. My advice is to call ahead to ensure you get the most for your money and don't end up disappointed. Also ensure you don't go on a day when there is a major event going on to avoid crowds or check if the the park closing early.
