What a beautiful park! Worth visiting when in Calgary, although I suggest to visit in the warmer months. We went in November with the kids and it looked lovely in white, but would probably have been more fun in the summer.

Best place to go with young n teens . Parents need to interact and talk about old traditions and country side back in time . this is the place to actual see older houses n show ur kids . grand parents are more than welcome to explain in much needed details. summer is super busy . so be prepared with extra time / food / wash room breaks . enjoy . look for deals on tickets .

A very interesting way to spend a few hours when in Calgary. Good attention to detail of the year 1900 with all the normal houses, shops and facilities ( inc a working blacksmith) reminiscent of the period. A steam train journey adds to the delights and at least allows you to rest your feet a while. Small funfair is included. A good family day out.

Heritage Park takes you back to the agricultural past of Alberta. Though it feels kinder and gentler we all know that people worked very hard in the past. There is a delightful redtaurant on the grounds and lots of attractions for people of all ages.

I love Heritage Park. One of my favourites is the paddle wheel boat. It is beautiful to go on the boat tour on the reservoir - very scenic. The buildings are authentic and beautiful examples of historical architecture in western Canada. There is a lot to see. My kids enjoy the amusement rides options. The old streets are fantastic, as well as the buildings that are open to self guided touring. We've attended other events at the Gasoline Alley building, and it was also memorable.

We went here mainly because of the train. My teenage son still loves trains, especially steam engines.
We all had a good time wandering around and learning many historical things. I reviewed our lunch at the Wainwright Hotel separately.
All of us, except maybe our teenage daughter, really enjoyed the car museum a lot.

Excellent Museum with a fantastic car collection. The homes and other buildings provided us with an interesting history of Canada and the city. A nice way to spend a day.

Although the Village is closed for for the season the shops and the museum remains open. The historical cars and gas station memorabilia is amazing year around.

But I come for lunch and this time it was a Livingston Beet salad and a Selkirk Steak Sandwich. And as usual both were unique and well prepared. Best of all it is quiet and not at all rushed. The service is excellent, with just enough attention to assure a great experience.

Why hadn't we heard of the Heritage Park before, was what we were asking our selves.
Based in Canmore for our 2 weeks Canadian vacation we came across a brochure advertising the Heritage Park. We decided to give it a go and we were not disappointed. What a brilliant living museum. I don't believe it was expensive to go in, bearing in mind it is certainly a full day out. we arrived at 10 and left at 4:30, we could of stayed longer but our legs were giving way after all the walking.
When you visit pay the bakery a visit a get some freshly baked bread of their Cinnamon buns which were very large and very very nice.
Highly recommended for everyone.

Heritage park has a little of everything that a certain generation can relate to. Kids are blown away by how primitive things were back then.
I enjoyed the stroll down memory lane, even though I am not a dinosaur I can remember how life was back then.
Quite frankly, I think life was simpler and less stressful than todays society.
Things might have been harder to do without the technology of today, but I used to get pride in doing things that made a difference to a livelihood back then.
Heritage Park shows that skills and determination it took to survive, not that long ago.
