Owner description: When you have the choice of everything from a thundering steam train to antique midway rides to beautifully preserved heritage buildings and homesteads, deciding what to do first isn't easy. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum, with hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants and daily demonstrations and activities to keep the young and the young-at-heart captivated in the past. No two days at the Park are the same, so come back as often as you like for a history lesson you won't find in any textbook.

“Fun”

A great place to take kids. Not only is it a great way to teach them about history. The old feel of the town and the people in costumes make it a fun day out.

“If your interested in the past”

It's a very unique place for people who like to see olden day stuff. They have a little amusement park with old rides. I heard the tunnel of love was a place that back in the days people liked to take there dates on because they always had to have a chaperone and the tunnel of love only hold 2 people, so they would be able to kiss when the cover went over head.
It's really neat to see the old cars, and stores and candy!
Great day for the family.

“Blast from the past”

Complete with a vintage train ride, this theme park of the West is an exhilarating experience. You will see demonstrations of crafts and skills of the 19th and early 20th Centuries. This is the way people lived, worked, and played, all re-enacted by volunteers in period dress. Catch a service in the Church or the Synagogue. Tour some beautiful homes from 100 years ago. See the hotel and the mannequins fully attired. Check out the cars and service stations of yesteryear in 'Gasoline Alley.' It's so cool!
If you plan to be in Calgary, or near it, this is a must-see. Don't miss it!
