Owner description: When you have the choice of everything from a thundering steam train to antique midway rides to beautifully preserved heritage buildings and homesteads, deciding what to do first isn't easy. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum, with hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants and daily demonstrations and activities to keep the young and the young-at-heart captivated in the past. No two days at the Park are the same, so come back as often as you like for a history lesson you won't find in any textbook. Our operating season is from mid-May to early October each year.

This place has something for everyone! Was a great choice for my father's 60th birthday, all his kids and grandkids loved it, as did he!

Quite, Clean Place to getaway in the heart of a big city with lots of old buildings and people dressed in period costumes and the steam train and paddle wheeler ride are fun

What a great place to spend a day. Alberta history, buildings from around our area, doing things the way they used to be done (plowing fields, farm animals etc). Horse drawn wagon rides, sail the SS Moyie paddlewheeler, ride the train and definitely have some ice cream or old fashioned (or not) candies. Depending on the day there may be extra events happening - go to the Indian village and speak with them in the teepee's, or perhaps to the old schoolhouse with the small playground next door. Careful you don't end up behind bars in the RCMP office. There are several places to grab a bite to eat and the prices for food are average.
