Owner description: When you have the choice of everything from a thundering steam train to antique midway rides to beautifully preserved heritage buildings and homesteads, deciding what to do first isn't easy. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum, with hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants and daily demonstrations and activities to keep the young and the young-at-heart captivated in the past. No two days at the Park are the same, so come back as often as you like for a history lesson you won't find in any textbook. Our operating season is from mid-May to early October each year.

Just went through major revamp. Acres of wide open space, restored heritage buildings, beautiful by the water setting. Lots to see & do

Love Heritage park! I have been going there since i was a child. It never loses its magic. Love the bakery! Some of the best homemade baked goods around. Sleigh rides and wagon rides are always a blast! And there is something so special about riding on a steam train. You can tell the staff here are dedicated to their jobs and enjoy them. This park is especially fantastic at Christmas time!

Very interesting, good for all ages. Well presented historical setting, with dining, interactive activities and presentations.

This park is large and truly beautiful. It's a bit expensive to get in, but when you see how much there is to look at, it's all relative. Plan for the whole day and start early! Take a ride on the paddle-wheeler, it's well worth the additional cost. There are so many buildings to poke around in and things happening on the 'streets'. There are lots of food options, but are typical 'fast food' fare. If you try to eat healthier, pack your own picnic lunch and use one of the park's many tables or benches. DON'T go in the winter to just the Gasoline Alley display. It's not worth it, at all. Wait until the whole park is open.

Heritage Park is well done -- from the costumes the staff wear to the turn-of-the-century feel in the park. It's fun to walk around the park and imagine what it would've been like way back when.
