Went on a great sunny day. The animal displays were outstanding. Their enclosures were well maintained, the animals looked healthy and the admission price was well worth it.

Be sure to get here early because the day will fly by before you know it! The Red Pandas are hilarious and the Penguin exhibit gets me every time. Even in the winter it is great to just go to the atrium and be surrounded by warm air and lush plants.

We have been going to the Calgary zoo ever since moving to the city 30 years ago. Animal care is always improving and educational outreach extended.
The zoo is (literally) an island away from city life. An opportunity to connect with other parts of the world and understand more about ecology.
We do treat better what we undestand better and I think the zoo does an admirable job.
The way the whole community pulled together to help for flood recovery is a great testimony of the value of this space and his occupants.

Nice to go when weather is nice. You could spend the whole day which you should if your going because I found it to be expensive for gate admission along with snacks. Kids love it because they can run around & play in the play ground. Animals are interesting & some like the monkeys can be very entertaining & you could stand there for hours watching them. Best thing to do if going is to pack a picnic lunch & spend the entire day. Great place to experience.

After working for almost a full year now, the Calgary Zoo is back. Still some areas where work remains to be done post flood, but there are still lots of things to see. It's a fabulous place for the kids and big kids too. The elephants are currently preparing to travel to their new home in Washington DC, so that will be a sad loss for zoo lovers, but will be very much a positive move for the elephants. It's well worth it to plan a day trip.. eat there or pack a lunch.. It's all good, as long as the unpredictable Calgary weather is in a cooperative mood!!.
