“Fantastic Zoo”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

I have been going to the Calgary Zoo with my nephews for years. It has always been fabulous, but I think right now after knowing that 2/3 of it was underwater in the flood just a few months ago, we need to really support it. They have done a great job reopening the Canadian Wilds and the fabulous Penguin Plunge....which just happens to be one of the best zoo exhibits ever! They had lots of mascots wandering around for the kids, places to eat lunch and little information stations. I believe if you don't have a seasons pass, the admission charges are less right now too, since the island isn't open. Go, enjoy a great day out, and help to get this fantastic zoo repaired!

“too bad for the flood”

still had a great time even though half the zoo was closed due to the flood! Going to wait and definitely going again when they re-open the island!!

Went to the Calgary Zoo for the festival of lights. It is a must see. Great fun and affordable. It is for the whole family or for a couple on date night.

Okay: seriously- the Zoo is currently partially closed, and that is sad. They didn't loose any animals, and the admission is lower. The canadian wilds exhibit is very informative and awesome. I think we missed the otter exhibit somehow, still haven't figured out why/how.

All of this pales in comparison to how AWESOME the penguin plunge is! Seriously awesome! So cool! And if you're lucky, they will JUMP OUT OF THE ENCLOSURE. I cannot contain how disappointed I am that this didn't happen while we were there, and don't freak out it, it only happens a couple of times per day, some days not at all, apparently.

The guide people were pretty great! PENGUINS! I'm sorry, I realize that my excitement doesn't translate well to this format, but suffice to say I think this place is great. So great, we went twice!
