Wind down your trip with a walk through our fragrant Dorothy Harvie Gardens or sit with the butterflies in ENMAX Conservatory. This an old type zoo with enclosures too small and where the animals are exhibited rather than living in a natural environment as possible.

The Calgary Zoo is one of the best I've been to!. Great exhibits, great atmosphere.
Don't miss the Penguin Plunge, it is a very unique and amazing experience. Get there early though or you can end up waiting in line for quite a while.

I have been to a lot of zoo's in Canada and this is my very favorite. This zoo is beyond the best standards in all you will see. A MUST SEE while in Alberta!

This is easily one of the best zoos in the world - we go at least a few times a month and always have a great experience. The new penguin exhibit is so much fun. Nothing better on a cold winter day than going to the rain forest and hanging out with the gorillas.

Great zoo. Newest attraction is an indoor penguin enclosure with 31? different types of penguins. There was a huge queue (45 minutes of waiting) so I would recommend getting there when it opens and going straight to this (near the entry from the C train). We went to see the North American animals in case we didn't see them in the wild - very good, but some may have needed a few more companions eg. wolves.. Great collection. African savannah and rainforest animal exhibitions were also very good. The flamingos were lovely. Well worth the visit. Walkable from downtown.
