We booked into a mini-suite for a couple of nights over a weekend. The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size. We found it difficult to manage the temperature because the heating system is very dated and super sensitive. The plumbing is so old, make sure you don't go for a shower and have someone flush the toilet nearby. I had to leap out of the water or be scalded. The desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had to use outside parking because our rented SUV was too tall for underground parking. Great access to the C-Train and many downtown restaurants.

Room Tip: We paid $10 more per night for a mini-suite and had windows and views on two walls.

Despite what other reviews say, we didn't have a problem with staff at all. Checking in and out was a breeze, the room was of a good quality and the location of the hotel was the best thing - the tram line is almost outside the front door and travel is free within the downtown area. We were on floor 20 and didn't have an issue with traffic or tram noise so if you have sensitive hearing, request a higher level floor. Will definitely be recommending this hotel and will stay there again!

A few girlfriends and I chose to stay at this hotel as it was downtown and close to everything we were doing while in Calgary. We only decided to stay one night. About 30 minutes after we had checked out and on our way home, we realized we had left a camera sitting on the bed. We immedietly called the hotel to inform them of this. To our dismay the camera "was not found". This just shows how un-trustworthy the staff are. We had very special pictures on that camera and were disgusted to find that the staff would not turn in a customers camera.

Booked an event in March 2013 for 100-140 ppl. All business was done over the phone. Banquet Manager did not inform me that there was a group occupying our requested meeting room right up to our meeting time. Scrambled to get 140 chairs set up in less than 15 minutes, extremely disorganized! Banquet Manager was arrogant and did not even appologize for the inconvenience. Event guests were told to wait in a designated section of the lounge until the meeting room was ready. Guests then went to the lounge and were told they could not sit in that section. Total chaos! Then hotel charged my credit card for the event but has yet to issue me an invoice and is dodging my calls and emails. Guest rooms were outdated as well. Not impressed. Will never EVER book another event at this hotel.

Rooms are very very old and dated. Wifi is also very poor and inconsitent all over the hotel. Lift is damn scary when going down - it actually seems like it skips a floor making my stomach turn. Overall not a recommeded place for calgary. Im sure there are plenty better.
