“Fantastic Pub Experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

From the time you arrive until the time you leave, you are made to feel like a member of the family. They have a great beer selection, great single malt varity and the food is execellent. The service is second to none and they make you feel like you are dining out at home.

“This is the place for beer”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Famous stop in Calgary, always busy. A true Irish pub environment. Food is okay, meatloaf is the full meal deal.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

To start off with the good, the service was impressive, a friendly face who was happy to help. The character of this pub was rather homely, a lot like a pub back at home in the UK.

I feel that there was too many TV's reducing the quality of the atmosphere, from our seat alone we could count 10 televisions. This perhaps is the norm throughout Calgary, but was a little too much for our liking.

Onto the food, the presentation of the food was second to none for a pub style meal, however the taste did not live up to the appearance. We chose the Butter Chicken Curry, this dish was rather bland. On the other hand, we also ordered the Alberta Buffalo Burger, this did live up to its promise, with great taste throughout, especially the crinkle chips.

Overall this pub was worth the visit, and would recommend for a quick evening meal and drink.

“Good Calgary Pub”
Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

Overall, the Unicorn was a good experience. Great selection of drinks, and really enjoyed the appies as well. The service wasn't particularly fast, but overall, I think it was worth the wait. I would gladly come back here.

“Perfect downtown Irish pub; lots of seating makes it a great after-work stop.”
Reviewed October 10, 2012 via mobile

The Unicorn is a great downtown pub for catching that after-work pint with the gang. There's always lots of seating, and the food is above average pub fare.

For a particular treat, head down on a Wednesday and try their 35 types of wings for 35 cents each. Some of the flavours weren't as bold as I was hoping -- the wasabi wings in particular were disappointing -- but many other flavours are quite enjoyable!
