We have previously stayed at this hotel and loved it. The return visit to the restaurant for dinner was a treat. The food was outstanding. Perfectly cooked fish and great wines. Our only irritation was the waiter who would not leave us alone and kept chatting at us, to the point where we were wanting to scream please leave us alone, which is the reason why I have rated this low on the romance front. We wanted to have a romantic dinner a deux, not a threesome.

Have eaten at the restaurant dining room many times over many years. Never had a bad meal. Service is always Five Stars. Menu is varied and adjusts often. They have no problems with reasonable special requests. Wine selection is rated very highly. They have another pub, which we have never eaten in.

Have been staying here for many years. First rate. Rooms are excellent, staff is excellent, the restaurant is way above average, is Five Stars. Bothe the hotel and restaurant are often booked, recommend reservation. The Hotel ownership is exceptional.

Having dined rather disappointedly the night before at Fairview in Chateau Lake Louise, we were really UP for a decent, if not delicious, meal. For what it's worth, do go to the Fairview at least once,
for the outstanding decor and beyond exceptional personnel,
but don't expect great cuisine.

Stopped at the Post Hotel for lunch the following day, and indeed ended up savouring what was possibly the finest 'dinner' quality lunch I've had in literally ages~~!!
Canadian King Salmon with asparagus.
My companion had the filet mignon.
Both were divine, along with an excellent wine list, though the prices made us gasp in comparison to what some of the finer bottles cost in a great Seattle venue!

This atmosphere, as others have written, is average.
And, our server was most perfunctory indeed; lacking either charm or caring, and certainly without much interest in whether we were properly attended.
Oh well,
the food more than compensated, so DO visit this restaurant for a most succulent pleasing of the palate.

Normally, any fish would be my last choice on a menu, though something piqued interest in the Canadian King Salmon choice, I suppose . .. and it was beyond exceptional. Not only prepared to perfection, but an ideal texture and taste in combo with the chef's sauce and young asparagus accompaniments.

Comfortable dining room . . . rather like those found in upscale retirement homes, though this one had lovely log walls and low ceilings. Not overly romantic, but inviting, with good sound absorption when fully occupied.

Easy free parking, and level entry for those traveling with the elderly and/or physically limited.
Lovely fireplace sitting area if having wait for a table, and clean restrooms.

Delightful in every way, even though service can be a tad disdainful.

We shared all our courses as we can't eat the amount served normally . We started with the champagne risotto with lobster, which was excellent. The champagne was subtle and didn't overwhelm the lobster; and it came out piping hot from the kitchen in a heated plate which is critical. Next we had the salad with the vegetable samosa and the orange vinaigrette, a great combination. Our main course was the Alberta tenderloin, cooked perfectly medium rare. It was tender and flavorful with the bordelaise sauce. Dessert was apple crumble with cinnamon ice cream, nicely flavored but not too strong along with a nice glass of Sauternes. Service was impeccable by our experienced waiter James. We were there on a busy Saturday and all went smoothly. The two Swiss brothers who own the hotel were both in attendance and actively overseeing the restaurant. Good value for the high quality experience. A wonderful dinner in Lake Louise.
