I was request twice to visit the cellar but still no follow up.
Expensive but really worth the visit .

“Excellent food, terrible value, snobby service”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I can see why this is a highly rated restaurant, the meal was creative, well prepared, quality ingredients, with a great presentation in a pleasing environment. Surprisingly, also, for such an up-scale venue, the portion size was more than expected.
The prices, however, no matter how good the meal, are outrageous, even by Canadian Rockies standards during the tourist season. We have paid less for equal quality meals in some of the world's largest cities and best restaurants.
The service was (pardon the expressions) snobby and snooty. We had a problem with the tomatoes in the tomato salad. When mentioned to the waiter, we were told "these are after all, madam, not garden-variety tomatoes". This waiter then transferred us to another waiter for service - we apparently were not worthy of his continuing attention.
One other tip, they will ask you, when making a reservation, where you are staying. If it is not at their Hotel - The Post - it was our experience that you will not be seating at one of the better tables. We were assigned, and refused, the table by the kitchen door when many other tables were available at the time - we were not staying at the Post.
The rest of the meal was excellent and eventually the owner stopped by our table and we had a affable conversation.

“Luxurious decadence off the road less travelled.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

Over the years I have stayed in many if not all of the properties in Canadian Rockies. From the old school opulence of the Banff Springs hotel to the modern comfort of the Rimrock. I now have a new favourite, the Post Hotel in Lake Louise.
Tucked away from main traffic arteries beside a smooth flowing creek from my cabin deck the peaks and glaciers seemed close enough to touch.
The food, wines, service and subtle background music in the dining area are above 5 star.
Put the Post on your bucket list.
A must experience for any serious traveller or a very intimate weekend for all the romantics. Enjoy life at the Post

“This restaurant would be 5 star in any city.”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Waiters are intelligent, and everywhere in a good way. The wine list is truly impressive for its depth as well as its reds. And a pretty good cross section of prices as well. We each had a different meat and couldn't decide which was the best. All were tender, perfectly prepared, and very tasty. Expensive, but really worth it. This was a great evening out, and kind of a surprise as the setting is a bit rustic. Don't let that fool you. This is first class.
