In a trip to Canadian Rockies, food was not the attraction. That being said this place was a very bright spot in our eating experience. I had an excellent bison short ribs and my husband veal saltinocca. Both very well prepared. Desserts were outrageous!!! I would have stayed here too if id have known how beautiful it was.

What could be more wonderful than driving along a beautiful scenic road (the Bow Valley Parkway) between Banff Springs and Lake Louise than to come upon a darling place with cute log cabin well-maintained cabins and a wonderful restaurant bistro with great food? There is an outside deck if you prefer to eat outdoors, too. The food is fantastic. We have eaten here several times on our trips to Banff and will definitely return!

We read the reviews and decided that we'd try this restaurant one night for dinner - one of the best places we ate in the National Park!!! Infact, we planned our return trip to the Calgary airport so we could stop at the bistro for one last meal!! The staff is wonderful - we asked several questions about the sauces, dressings etc. Not only were they knowledgable, but the sous chef came to our table to tell us what was in her dressing!! The menus were exactly what we like - not the same old, same old...everything had a wonderful little twist and I could have gone back to try several other dishes!! (Try the chicken breast with chutney sandwich, the crab/ avacado layered salad, and don't miss the berry crumble dessert!!)
Call ahead for a reservation for dinner -well worth it and the pricing is right in line with other restaurants in Lake Lousie of Banff of the same caliber, but I must say this was the best food ever!

We stayed at Baker Creek Chalets (now called Baker Creek Mountain Resort) and ate at the Bistro nearly every evening. Great food, great staff and fun time!

We enjoyed a very nice dinner here after spending a day in Banff. The food and staff are very good, and we thought the prices are reasonable. Consider where you are...in the middle of a national park miles from 'civilization'. The log cabin setting is beautiful, very quiet and comfortable. They have nearby cabins for rent and we'll probably stay there next time rather than the town of Banff. We definitely recommend the Bistro for a couples looking to avoid the commercialized Lake Louise setting.
