“It's the Idea of this place that makes it great.”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

So, you've just schlepped thru snow, up switch backs, across streams, you are wet, you are cold, you are dazzled by the scenery and the friendly spirit of everyone you meet on the trail - You reach the Teahouse. The lovely, personable wait staff greets you. The dog wags it tail. You have tea. It's the same tea ya get everywhere else in the world. You have cake, it's dry, it's cold, but as you look out across the balcony at the glaciers, it tastes better.

Don't expect culinary delight - This place is about the place. Carry that spirit with you and it's all good.

“Small and simple menu, refreshing”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We've been coming to this tea house for years and the experience has always been great. This time, even better. We came with friends and our two little dogs and the owner and staff were very accommodating, even taking time to speak with us about the little guys and providing them with water. The menu is small, as is to be expected when you have to backpack all your materials in, but the quinoa salad and tuna wraps were top notch, as was the vegetarian soup of the day, in this case a curried chick pea soup. At about $15 per person with tea, a perfectly reasonable price as well. We'll continue coming, especially since it's not anywhere near as busy as the Agnes tea house. A great place to unwind.

“After a strenuous hike, this sure hit the spot!”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

After hiking several miles, my hands were freezing and I was starving. I got hot chocolate, peanut butter/jelly sandwich, and a chocolate cake. Very delicious! It got me ready for the hike back. Their dog is absolutely adorable, too. Prices are a little higher but you have to think about the fact that tgey haul everything up there (fuel included), and haul their trash back down. The slight increase in price helps pay for this extra work.

“a must do hike and 2 teahouses on one hike possible !”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

The hike to the teahouseS is a must do in lake louise.
Taken an early start at 8.15 Am we could not believe our eyes, when we were almost alone , rounding te beautiful lake louise at the right side at a very sunny sunday morning in august 2012.
At the end of the lake the climb of the plain of 6 glciers walk (45O elevation) starts. Do not forget to look back for great pictures of the lake and the hotel., but also near the end of the first part of the walk, before arriving at the teahouse, the pictures are stuning.
Do NOt endyour walk and continue to the (Victoria) glaciers and the big mountains . Big horn sheeps were just behind the trail. This last part is only 20 minutes one way walk and EASY to do - almost level, some scree at the end on a ridge. A lot of people do no continue the walk - shame.
Descending you can picknick at the teahouse or eat soup or other dishes.
Returning we took the Highline trail (after some 25 minutes to the left) going to Agnes Lake and second teahouse. The whole elevation becomes only 765 m - a moderate hike) Do not except the same silence of the mountains here the second lake or in the teahouse. The were hundreds of people around the beautiful lake .
Every one is descending the same way passing another (small) lake with the Big beehive behind in the picture.
The whole journey was 5 stars, with pictures , 2 teahouses and 3 lakes.
Moderate walk you can do also on two days : one : Plain of the 6 glaciers and another half day (lake agnes)
All includes 8 - 9 hours splendid time.
