I love lake louise for skiing, though in summer they run the gondola to watch the Grizzlys on the hill eating to get ready for hibernation. It is luck really, as a group of my friends and I took it in early september and didn't see one Grizzly. In saying that it is a fantastic area to see this kind of wildlife, Lake Louise is known for its black/ grizzly bears. Though with wildlife, you have to remember it is all chance anyway, Banff national Park is not a zoo. If you are planning to go however, you can check the Lake Louise website to get an update on bear sightings up the hill.
