We had a great stay. We were there 4 nights in one of the log cabins. It was quiet, well maintained and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant 3 nights. I loved the spinach salad and the pasta with mushrooms. Great service and helpful staff, with hikes to check out. When booking Lake Louise, I didn't realize there was no town. There is a info center within a strip mall near the freeway. It had everything you would need. Grocery- small (we did bigger grocery shopping in Banff at a Safeway- we didn't end up cooking any dinners, but we did use the stove top and fridge helped out with breakfast, snacks and lunches we packed), post office, book store, liquor store, gift shops. We were the perfect distance from things. I would book this location again. Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: There is a train, but it never woke us up. We were in cabin 11 in the front of the property. The wood burning fire place kept us warm every night.

Bakewr Creek chalets have a great location, between Lake Louise and Banff on the parkway, this was our third visit

The rooms are great ( but can be a little dark ) and have everything you could possibly need for a quiet stay, with great scenery and hiking on your doorstep...

perfect for a get away from it all vacation

We stayed here in Sept 2012 (it's taken so long to write this review) for 5 nights. We're so glad we chose this place, as when we decided to get Married at Moraine Lake, the lodge proved a great place for our pre-ceremony photos. The lodge, the creek, it was just amazing. Ideal location for travelling up and down the icefields parkway. We stocked up on food and drink in Safeway at Canmore and would pop to the bakery in Lake Louise for breakfast. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved having the wood burner in the lodge. The wooden bears dotted about were so cute, we would ave loved to bring one back to the UK - we settled for a 'Baker Creek' Xmas decoration instead. We would definitely return! Maybe to relive our amazing Canadian Wedding?

Baker Creek Mountain Lodge is on the Bow Valley Parkway about seven miles south of Lake Louise. There are two lodge buildings with about 24 rooms each and a number of large cabins or homes in the adjoining woodlands. The rooms have a log and pine décor with a bear theme everywhere. Our room on the upper floor of one of the lodge buildings was large, so large that there was plenty of room for a queen bed, a couch, a rocker, and even a whirlpool tub in the room. A gas fired fireplace was available for heat in the colder months. The room also had a small balcony that overlooked the cottages. Other amenities included TV, coffee brewer, microwave, and refrigerator. Wi-Fi is available but it is an extremely slow satellite system. There is fairly good restaurant at the lodge which is open late for dinner and early for breakfast. That is fortune since even in Lake Louise the restaurant choices are limited, expensive, and difficult to get into. On the negative side, the pillows were very lumpy, and the main CN train line was close behind the lodge with very noisy trains passing by several times a night.

We travel a lot and most often stay in nice hotels with trendy amenities. This place is different and was so welcome. We came to Banff and Lake Louise to get away from traffic, congestion, noise, and crowds. We wanted to concentrate on fresh air, quiet, nature, and great scenery - a place to get away to after a long day of challenging hiking. Baker Creek Chalets is the place. We rented a cabin on the outskirts of the resort facing the forest. It was awesome. Large one bedroom cabin, king size bed, huge fireplace, leather easy chairs, huge tub, kitchenette, small dining area, quiet and private. Each cabin has a short driveway so that you can pull your car or SUV right up to the cabin to load and unload.

The Resort is on the Bow Valley Parkway which is mostly an amazing two lane highway plowing through the forest at the foot of the mountains. There is wildlife everywhere. We dont drive around much at night here because of the huge populations of deer, elk and bears that may wander onto the roadway, but even in the daylight we ran across bears lumbering next to the road. The Resort sits on the river and there are Adirondack chairs and swings next to it where you can just relax and enjoy the sounds and scenery.

We loved this place and will be back.

Room Tip: We preferred the cabins rather than the hotel and recommend them.
