“Nice breakfast annoying wait”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

We patiently waited in line to get a table for breakfast while their inefficient and dumb system of seating guests had folks waiting long times while half the tables were available. Management in this hotel needs to understand that service should be about what guests want and not about what is convenient for the staff.
Once seated we got a nice window table with a spectacular view. We got a very cordial waiter who was a little too friendly and conversational. I came here to have breakfast with my spouse and not to make a new friend among the staff. Nevertheless it was a pleasant experience.
Our view of the less than spectacular $30 buffet made us choose the $24 ala carte breakfast. Two types of eggs Benedict were wonderful
We will return for another breakfast an hopefully try to avoid their inefficient and pretentious guest seating system.

“Dont ask if the soup has cheese”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

For this quality of hotel we were surprised at the service. When asking the server about specific items on the menu, he knew very little. Had to send the French Onion Soup back...like consommé, no cheese and for the PRICE !!! Crab Cakes have too much batter...was not impressed at all with food

“Breakfast Buffet”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

if you are a member of Fairmont's Presidents Club with their credit card you get vouchers for $25 for breakfast so we tried the Breakfast Buffet. It was much better than the one at Banff Springs Hotel. Beignets, fried pineapple fritters, french toast (these were not hot), wonderful egg strata, bacon, bison sausage, potato dishes, fruits, yogurt parfaits and many other offerings. The breakfast buffet is $30 which would not be worth it to me if I had to pay but overall most of the food was really good - just wish they could keep it all hot.

“Terrible food”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

In for a large group dinner at Poppy Brasserie as part of a stay at the hotel. Food was terrible with more than half of our group unable to eat their entrees. The salmon was dried out and tasteless, the burgers overdone and hard as a rock. Service was okay - but only so much can be done with poor food. Would not recommend.
