Came for a 2 night stay at Moraine Lake Lodge. We had a cabin and it was very relaxing. Staff are very friendly and the food in their restaurant is excellent. There is no internet, no television, no phone, no air conditioner in the cabins. It is perfect. Nice to be away from electronic devices. When you go to Moraine Lake enjoy the view, the beauty of nature, go for a canoe ride, a hike in many trails or a simple walk around the lake. What you see in the picture a blue lake and beautiful mountains is breathtaking. It is a must see.Don’t forget to bring your camera and enjoy your stay.More

Incredible
What an incredible experience this was. Friendly staff that are willing to go out of their way to help you. Cozy rooms and cabins with real wood fire places. Qualify beds with comfortable bedding. Food was amazing. All of this situated at a location that just can’t be beat. If you have the choice of Lake Louise or Moraine Lake, choose Moraine. So much quieter and more natural. It doesn’t cater to tourists with infrastructure. It caters to the outdoors person that wants to see the lake and surrounding mountains in all their natural beauty.

One Night,,A Gem and Respite !
My husband and I ended our 2 week stay in Alberta by staying at Moraine Lake Lodge. It just happened to be an evening and day of cloudy skies and rain...This did not 'dampen' the joy of being here in a 'luxury lodge'...We took advantage of the times without downpours and headed up to the famous 'rockpile' for pictures overlooking the Mountain range and lake. Then we had an hour to walk the trail along the lake...which was quite calm and serene.
Our room was in the main lodge and we had a scrumptious breakfast and then before leaving had a light lunch that was served in the 'Lounge'....This is a quiet setting to read, play games, and overlook the scenery. The balcony was nice, but due to the rain we could not enjoy it..but it was a fabulous overnight location......

Careful if you cancel
Three months after I canceled my reservation at this hotel, I still don{t have my money back. They say they refunded. The credit card company says they cant force the hotel to explain. etc. Bunch of thieves.

Moraine Lake is stunning.....
We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Moraine Lake Lodge for two nights on our recent vacation. Moraine Lake definitely live up to it's reputation as "the jewel of the Rockies." And overall, we really did enjoy staying at Moraine Lake Lodge but a few things could have been better. We stayed in at the main lodge (room #28) and our room was right by the parking lot. Thankfully, the parking lot was not too busy but it still was not ideal. We booked our room ten months in advance.....my guess is that there are better rooms so book earlier than ten months to get one of the more desirable rooms. Also, we were there for two nights and the 2nd day we were there....the water container in the lounge was never refilled after lunch. We thought that was odd because most hotels replenish water through out the day. Finally, the dining room/restaurant is pricey and the food is delicious. On our first night we absolutely had amazing service at the restaurant! The second night, we had the same server, but due to her section have a very large table of diners that were employees at the lodge plus another full table she had to tend to overall, service was not nearly as good at the night before. Water and wine glasses were not refilled in a timely manner an the time between our appetizers and entrees was not ideal. Also, same thing occurred at breakfast buffet.....first day was good service but 2nd day was not as good. I know I am being picky but for this price point these things do stand out and can make the difference from a very good experience to an outstanding one. If you have the opportunity to stay at the Moraine Lake Lodge, definitely do so. Overall, the lodge is lovely, the service is good but the opportunity to stay at the lake is what this place is all about. We fell in love with Moraine Lake and definitely enjoyed the beauty, the awesome hiking and canoeing. We just wish the lodge experience could have been slightly better.

A wonderful, quirky and friendly retreat
We travelled with two older teenagers and took two rooms (room 7 and 8). This hotel is an absolute gem. We found our welcome hearty and warm and the advice that we received about the trails and the restaurants and even where to find bears was fantastic. We enjoyed the enthusiastic approach that the staff seem to naturally have for their environment and they were nothing but courteous and helpful.

The rooms were brilliant. Ski cabin style with a huge bed. We enjoyed the tiny lounge and the sublime lake views - we were blessed with the weather so we didn't have a fire, but they set one out for you in the fireplace - that would be so cosy! The staff at the canoe centre were joyful and happy to assist. There is no doubt that this is a special place.

The food was alright, great if you love the fine dining experience. We enjoyed two lovely meals, but traveling with teenagers meant that we also ventured out to find less sophisticated fare.

We stayed at many places during our Canada trip and we all agree that this was the best. It is an absolute treat. It is low key, laid back utter luxury. I sincerely hope we come back one day.
