Review of Moraine Lake Lodge

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. As other reviewers have noted, it is not a cheap place to stay. We concur that it was worth it. We stayed in a King Room with a view of Moraine Lake. It was one of the most relaxing stays we have ever had in a hotel and we were truly able to unplug. Our favorite part was the reading nook with large picture window overlooking the lake and the fire place. It was a trip of a lifetime.

Beautiful
We stayed in pone of the Lodges overlooking the lake. It was beautiful and very comfortable.
Very expensive but worth it for the view. Mt only complaint would be the restaurant. The food was ok but not exceptional and very overpriced.
We could have driven out somewhere else to eat but then you can't relax with a glass of wine

Expensive, but the location is worth it.
Stayed in a detached building having several rooms. Our room had a king bed and a wood burning fireplace. The room is decorated lavishly in rustic fashion, including the furniture appearing to be hewed from parts of trees. On the practical side, however, I found the room lacking. There was no table or desk on which to put a laptop. There was an armoire, but most of the shelves were occupied by hotel stuff. I like to have a bureau with drawers. The bathroom is very attractive with lots of space for toiletries. Our room and the public areas were clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hiking in this area is very good.

Wow
...just wow! The view from your balcony is mesmerising, the room is spot on, the food was super tasty and the fact you are 10 metres or so from Moraine lake is insane! Would highly recommend this lodge!

Bonus - canoe hire is included, saving you 120 dollars, plus you get to skip any queue 👍

One of the most beautiful places on earth
Situated in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the lodge is well run, with outstanding staff. The rooms are full of character and perfectly clean. The meals are of an excellent quality. The staff, without fail, are polite, helpful and professional. The is a well managed lodge befitting of its location; it is much better managed than nearby Emerald Lake Lodge.

A very special place
We had a really lovely time at Moraine lodge to celebrate my birthday The rooms, although on the small side are spotlessly clean and well equipped. The complementary/included breakfast was a little disappointing, rather cold and dry by 9.45 and the eggs quite inedible! Otherwise it was a good selection of foods.
We would also prefer to tip generally at the end of our stay, rather than a bill on the breakfast table!
Is this a Canadian custom? We like to include all staff, those behind the scenes too.
Unfortunately our dinner experience was spoiled by misunderstanding the waitress who described the daily specials to us rather quickly. My husband ordered something that turned out to be something else! Happily, the cost of this was taken off the bill It was no fault of the waitress but I do feel that the specials should be In written form so that we could take more care in choosing. Some of the ingredients were new to us and I’m sure it would be wonderful to try them as it seems the standard of cooking was very high. If using too much paper is an issue it need only be one or two copies when your guests are deliberating over the choice of dishes. For us, it’s quite an expensive dinner, a real treat, and I just didn’t feel you were doing it justice by such a poor introduction.

On a happier note, we really enjoyed the canoeing where the staff were enormously helpful and patient, and the presentation given by Nadine Fletcher in the library one evening was excellent, very informative and entertaining.

Sorry this looks like a bit of a rant. We really loved most things at the lodge with the log fire in our room, the fabulous hikes and trails, excellent staff everywhere there including the gorgeous shop. I would highly recommend a stay here for any special occasion.
